Namath has more pickles than TD's and he's in the HoF for pointing his finger in the air and wearing fur coats. Not comparing, just saying.

I wanna kiss you right now....
I have not seen him hit ANYONE deep...he has hit them around 20 yards and then the receiver goes deep. But I have not seen a ball travel accurately without floating or looking horrible that was deep.
10 interceptions in 10 games. that is not improvement. The only games we have won are where he didn't turn the ball over. But that doesn't seem possible considering the teams now know we don't run for shit and dump the ball short every single down.
I guess I don't see him bouncing back and learning from his mistake. Interception vs Carolina is a perfect example. I do give him credit for winning us games...that second half against TB was good on him. Especially that last drive. I have never had a problem complimenting him when he does well. I also don't have a problem calling a spade a spade. I see a guy who can beat lousy teams...but only at home.
I still would like someone to show me that my eyes are lying to me. Yeah, we have a younger team, but are we improving? We're only in a divisional race because the division stinks. And, 7-9 might win it.
We're 28th in offense with an offensive minded coach. Our qb is still turning the ball over at an alarming rate. He's got an okay arm, but nothing special. His accuracy is off one game, and on in another. Our running backs are used by committee. We have a rookie who now has a reputation as a fumbler. He was benched once in college for fumbling.
The o-line can't create holes for the running game...the supposed goal of McL is smash mouth running. It ain't working. Again, the pass blocking has improved, but more of a product of Kirk's quick release more than anything.
I'm never confident when we need that 1 or 2 yard pick up on third down regardless of where we are on the field.
Our veteran group of WRs are as inconsistent as any unit on the team.
We are 4-6.
We all know how the defense is playing.
So, can someone point me to specifically where we are getting better and are an up and coming team?

Don't forget the pantyhose...
You're eyes aren't lying TR. The team is struggling. But I believe we're finally working to rebuild the correct way with McL. We won 4 games last year. We'll win more this year. I think many are underestimating just how bad this team is talent wise and just how much work/time is required to right the ship. We are improving and it's going to be an incremental progression until we reach the tipping point with our talent. We've started more players since Snyder took over who would barely be backups on other teams than any team in the NFL. Snyder is a fan who wants to win now every single season, never willing to forgo the temptation of the perceived quick fix. If McL can keep him at bay for a few years, I believe this team will be in a very different place.
Should be crystal clear now, that the Skins game vs Carolina game, is more of a game where you gotta credit Carolina's defense, than you blame Cousins, Gruden, or the rest of the offense.
Their defense is a ferocious, turnover-guzzling machine.
When they're not intercepting, they going for the strip of the ball, on every single play, and at least making the tackle.
A far cry from our defense, which struggles just to wrap up a player.
Problem with the Skins' defense, as has been for a long time, is they're more concerned with making a "highlight hit", than they are, with wrapping up the tackle, or forcing a turnover.

dayum!
well...that post leads me in only one direction: our offense as presently manned cannot compete against the better defenses. we need to get rid of the whole lot of em and find entirely new players who can compete!
snark aside......and with apologies......these sorts of thoughts always seem like rationalizations to me to protect poor coaching, woeful execution and lack of focus. these cats are professionals. the bar should be set to at least expecting something better than embarrassing.

That wasn't directed at me, was it ?
If so, you misunderstood my post.
