I am really tired of someone who is supposed to be moderating this place taking shots at persons with differing points of view. This is twice I've read you attacking a poster, today. You call it silly with little or no evidence when all over the NFL world the word is out about this kid being arrogant and incapable of reliving his glory from his rookie year. You act like I am an outlier, when the reality is he is no longer considered a threat in the NFL. It's widely accepted and your willful blindness is boring.
Those who are a little cocky do not go out and try to "brand" their moniker. Smart business? Ha! How does the RG3 brand look today?
And I don't see the great ones going all out in dangerous situations in the 2nd game of a long season against one of the worst teams in the league. If you can't see this kid has one speed, all out and that is why he will never stay healthy in this league...you're just ignoring this kid's history over the last 5 years. 3 serious injuries in 5 years. How's that "making a play" working out for him? ...forrest/trees. You have to understand when to lay it all on the line and when to throw the ball away.
You're wrong, I do not dislike the kid personally, I simply do not like what he represents to our organization...another failed attempt to grab lightning in a bottle. I called it prior to drafting him and I have been proven correct. I simply possess the arrogance to shove it in your face when you're wrong...so I am a bit of an expert on arrogance. Yes, I believe he is a narcissist.
Yawn...same ole same ole, don't you get tired of being so annoyed and angry around here? I never took a shot at you, I said your stance here is silly and I believe that to be so. If that displeases you, so be it. If I took a shot at you I would have gone on to explicitly break down your poor behavior around here, why it's wrong and the fact that this joint has been pretty peaceful and folks have gotten along very well in your absence. If I called you a name or two...that's taking a shot at someone. Accurately describing their take as silly (when you call this kid a Megalomaniac it's absurd to me, it's truly silly) is part of debating, not taking a shot. You are kidding yourself if you think you trying (key word
TRYING) to shove it in my face is as successful as you assert . Like I said, it's silly because you are making statements about his state of mind and personality when all you know about the kid is what microscopic amount he allows the media to be privy to. In short you don't know the kid at all but have been making definitive, judgmental comments about his personality since the day he was drafted. Have you even met him?
And yes when I get a post directed at me that's condescending and insulting and tries to explain what a downhill back is to me like I don't already know it, then I'm going to step up and defend my position. I don't check my personal right to an opinion at the door when I become a mod and I don't have to put up with bull directed at me personally either. If I was insulted in the process my response might be a bit chippy. I am human and that
IS reasonable.
Also I see player after player after player that make sure we see their face as much as possible. The fact that they didn't actually apply a self made brand name to their commercial exploits makes little to no difference, They are still promoting their "brand". You are splitting hairs. HUNDREDS of players have an actual brand they promote, Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, Gymnastics Figure Skating Hockey and yes even football players. What's probably most surprising about it is you won't admit you don't like the kid (so you
like Megalomaniacs?). If that is the case I'd sure hate to see your melt when you do address a player on the team you don't like.
Oh last thought...the great ones go all out ALL THE time. The Randy Mosses and Albert Haynesworths of the world pick and choose when to turn it on, not the Rices, Browns, Peytons, Sanders, Montanas, Unitas' and Marinos (or the Jordan's and Bird's if you like) of the world. Like I said...just silly. Could RG be smarter about when he takes chances? You bet but dialing down the competitive fire is not something alpha athletes can do. They don't have a dial they have a switch that says on or off and it goes down to stupid things like checkers and jenga. Characterizing his play as reckless is fair but all of the shots at his personality and personal approach to all things football is just not supported by fact and I will continue to take issue with those things the same way I would for any other athlete that gets it.
I simply possess the arrogance to shove it in your face when you're wrong...so I am a bit of an expert on arrogance.
That's a great point of pride. You're proud of this but then are indignant when someone comes back at you?
Please.
