Well, I am not sure if my comments were perceived to "Blame social media", but if you've followed my arguments about RG3 since before we made the trade to draft him, you would see I think he had bust written all over him from the beginning...over rated. This just adds salt to the wound he has become in this town.

The local media will look for anything to jump on, why give it to them? He had a poorly thought out interaction with a fan who said the same thing to him I said a few days ago on Twitter...just stop with the self aggrandizing behavior on social media and focus on more important things. The guy he actually chose to confront seemed rather respectful yet Robert kept coming back at him. He showed the same immaturity, I myself have displayed on this very site. Problem is, I am not supposed to be the leader of a pro football team.

And I don't see Russell Wilson fighting with his "fans" on Twitter. I see a lot of praise to God in those posts. Oh...and he has been to back to back Super Bowls...he puts his money where his mouth is, so to speak.

I am not actually arguing with your assessment of what you have thought about Griffin. It's well documented, and right now things are definitely on your side for how things have worked out. I'm just arguing that any comments made in regard to him and social media are a correlation, not causation.

If I wanted to, I could show you how Griffin doesn't fight with anybody over twitter. Even his instagram thing wasn't a fight, just him pointing out something then moving on shortly afterward. Only thing I'm pointing out is that if he was winning in the way Russell was, it wouldn't matter. He isn't and there are causes to that. Social media isn't one of them. His interactions on social media are NOT indicative of anything. Our analysis of it is based on his performance, but his performance is not based on his social media use.

He wins, then he doesn't get the hecklers. There is no proof for the argument about if arguments and heckling would or would not happen if he was winning versus losing. I'm just saying there is no way to point to his interactions on the web as a cause or even proof of his football abilities or dedication, etc. And nothing he has done prove he is weak either. Just that he is average for his age group.

You know how to eliminate that? Get off social media! When you turn things around and become a "good" QB in this league without a gimmick scheme, then go be what you want on Social Media...other wise just STFU already and prove the haters wrong.

Incognito said all the right things at his buffalo interview and got signed to a 1 year manageable deal. Not sure why he wasn't brought in here at least for depth or help. If his head is right he could help imensely.

I completely agree that any promoting should stop until he wins something. I just don't see it the same, as in your comment: "his inability to put it down and concentrate on winning". I think he is focused on winning, and I think putting it down would not help. I think he needs to definitely keep a lot more things in check, as they are a distraction because of the way the media handles such things. He has to be smart enough to control for that, no debate from me there.

He has done other things that would suggest that his ego is fragile to be sure; I just posit that his use of social media isn't one of them. We have plenty of quotes from press conferences that prove that, for sure. I just don't see the things he says on his twitter feed, instragram, etc., as anything different from the majority of his peers. To me, it is just noise. Noise that everybody makes, so I ignore it as I would the buzzing of a fly. Unfortunately, I am desiring this fly to perform better than the others, so I occasionally have it brought to my attention; this makes me annoyed with the people pointing at the fly saying it's buzzing, not the fly. The fly is just doing what all the flies out there do.

Griffin is a moron. I had to listen to 35 minutes of Dallas Sports radio on the drive home talking about this. It makes him and the team look foolish. He's sucked for two years. He just needs to shut his pie hole and do his job. Is he really so thin skinned that he has to respond to a random fan? That doesn't bode well for any chance at success. It was mentally weak to respond and a no win situation. A complete lack of judgment that he should not suffer from after 3 years in the league.

The thing is it isn't one random fan. It's asshole after asshole trying to get a response and taking cheap shots. Every single post.

He was very polite with his response. Better than I would have been or a lot of other players have responded to trolls like that.

We've harassed that guy and trolled him as hard as he did Griffin. Hopefully he comes back for more...I like getting online tough guys all riled up and watch them resort to threats and name calling.

He's a celebrity. There will be countless asses whether he's doing well on the field or not. He can't rise to the bait, especially when his play on the filed is suspect. He just doesn't have that luxury. The QB situation for the Redskins is embarrassing and he's right in the middle of it. He has to be better than this. He has no leeway. Maybe hard line but he's being paid lots of millions to do the right thing in every instance. He needs to go low key, disengage from the social media craziness and spend the offseason focusing on one thing. Anything other than that is unacceptable in my opinion. If he can't do that, he damn sure better grow a pair and stop stooping to the level of some nobody Joe Schmo who has nothing better to do than waste time harassing him.

Why? Because fans demand it? He did it last year and still was criticized. It's the offseason and he's living his personal life how he should be allowed to. He's a good man who thinks his calling is higher than just football and tries to spread his joy and positivity to all who will listen. I applaud that and wish more were like him.

He is working out. He is studying. He is trying to get better. But it's also his offseason and he has the right to be 24 and do what these young rascals do.

He doesn't have the same right as any 24 year old. He's paid millions and is expected to be a positive face of the organization. He can't give into those juvenile impulses we all suffered from at that age. He doesn't have that luxury. That comes with the job and is his obligation and responsibility. He can do other things than just football without making bonehead mistakes like this. He needs to just ignore that crap. He can have plenty of fun and enjoy his life without causing this kind of attention. Like it or not, this garners national attention and it isn't good press. It reflects poorly on him and the organization and God knows we don't need any more embarrassment than we already suffer. How hard is it to ignore some putz you don't know, who is obviously trying to get a rise. He knows anything he does like this is going to go viral, so either he's an attention whore who can't help himself or he's too immature and stupid to make basic good decisions.

He's not stupid...as a matter of fact he's probably more intelligent than any poster on this board and proved it by graduating early from school. Doesn't matter what time of year it is? RG3 has become a contentious sore spot for this organization. If it's not his need for validation through social media, it's his inability to remain healthy. If it's not his inability to remain healthy, it's his piss poor play on the field. Do you remember his play last year? FFS it was horrible for much of the time he was actually on the field. If it's not his piss poor play, it's him calling out his coaches for putting him in an unfortunate situation. This guy is becoming or has become a tumor...it's metastasizing and with every blurb on social media he lets get out of control, every interview he gives saying the coaches put him in an unfortunate situation, every time he throws shitty passes, every time he admits he was not fully healed but pushes to get back in the game...it continues to grow.

People trolling celebrities on the social media trying to goad them into a fight.

Celebrities responding to said trolls.

Or People who claim to not care or not like the guy constantly obsessing about it on a message board.
