According to Cooley Shanahan would look at the film highlights of the various college players top plays and make a decision who to draft in that basis.

Last year Amerson and Thomas came up on the radar because of their takeaways in college.

Both are NFL size and have adequate quickness.

While Mike's method seems a bit scratchy and superficial overall I can't say that Amerson or Thomas were poor selections.

Jimmy Johnson used to always look for defensive players that could force turnovers.

So, should DeSean sign with us are our WR needs met? That would be two FA signings to the position...both of whom have started most of their careers.

And, would that leave the draft to o-line and safety? Two safety picks last year resulted in one injured for the year and the other demoted rapidly. Obviously, our db drafting committee is in for criticism if they draft another whiff or two.

That's the main reason i've started changing my tune on Jackson.

I think McD5 pointed it out as well - this allows us more flexibility in the draft. The idea that we need a sure-fire play making WR from the draft meant drafting high. Now we can grab a guy late and see if he can make it, and use those higher picks on linemen, linebackers, or secondary.

Jackson is an arrogant prick famous for diving for the goal line and falling short... i think he's done that at least twice, but i may be wrong. The gang stuff bothers me. But I have no problem giving the FO the benefit of the doubt that they're doing their homework - judging their decisions will be easy enough in due time, so for now I'll defer to them...

If the cap is really going up $10M the next two years the Redskins can afford Jackson.

Again, for 2014 there are a couple of players the team can release to add cap space to fit Jackson in and sign the draft picks.

And he was dumped by Philly because he wasn't happy with being the 5th highest paid receiver in the league. If 10.5Mil and 30+ over the next 3 years isn't enough for him then wtf are we going to have to pay him? Are we really going to make him the highest paid receiver in the NFL?
