Well BT, it seems we're signing all those blue-collar, mid-tier players you said you wanted.
We should change our name to the Washington Stop-Gaps.
Is he? I saw where Porter was the 7th worst corner in the league at giving up YAC. Something like just under 400 yards last year. Does he get beat long or does he struggle at tackling?
not jumping on you at all, Henry, but remember when we went out and signed a bunch of "starters" in the early 2000s every year? and every year they "needed time to gel" before we could "expect them to be a team"?
thats what I dont want happening anymore. let guys come in, some stars, some lunch pail, and let them be a team together.
why should they let everyone (players, fans, media) know that they are rebuilding? You want to seem competitive and players who think they are tend to try harder even if they aren't supposed to be that good.
I dont think we are rebuilding, I think we are tooling up and getting depth at a cheap rate. I think a good reason that we stunk it up so bad on D was 2 reasons:
1 - I think they were on the field too much. Players get tired and depth helps relieve that.
2 - they were sabotaged by Shan. We have heard the rumors and the way they dropped off from one year to the next is way too dramatic.
I dont think we are rebuilding..I think we are getting the best guys we can for the best deals we can. You never know, someone may step up and be a great player. Then Allen and Co. will look like geniuses for signing them so cheaply.
How do they measure YAC by individual CB? That is a fishy stat to me.

So far it looks, to me, like we've added one starter to our roster: Porter.
Maybe the LB we signed today. That's about it.
I'm not upset about it or thrilled or anything in between. This all may be part of some overall plan I don't know about, which is all fine. But we're not signing a bunch of starters right now. At least I hope we're not.

Seeing reports that we are going to sign Jason Hatcher, DL from Dallas.

Was our 4th rated pass-rushing DT in 2013 RT @BuddyLeeGhost: @PFF what can you tell us about Jason Hatcher, the new Washington acquisition?

Now there's a starter for the next four years. That's an absolute home run if we get him. Don't quote me, but I believe he's only 26 too.
