Random Commanders Thoughts

I'm hearing Darren Sproles to Philthy.

in the NFC South..

that was also last year when they still had Sproles, a world beating TE under contract, and no bloated contract for Byrd.

not exactly doing what they need to in order to keep that record, are they?

I don't know, maybe they are?

I suppose we'll see :)

Saints have Drew Brees, they will always be a threat with him at QB.

I am glad we didn't trade for Sproles. $3.4M for a specialist is too much for a rebuilding team.

We need to invest this money in guys who can come in and be full-time starters.

you think that a pissed off TE who is their best receiver not wanting to play and a RB who is now gone after drama is going to keep them at 11-5?

I find that just as interesting.

No, they are going to continue to go downhill. All of my friends who are Saints fans are pissed off at how the organization is handling this, how they cant seem to get Grahams contract right but can bring in a hired gun, and the drama behind Sproles, and dont want to take it.

They should still win the South...but thats not a really big deal. They are not a threat to anyone.

Well, like I pointed out, people said the same thing last year, they finished 11-5 and made it to the second round of the playoffs.

I'm not saying they'll be a favorite to win the SB, but I think they'll compete for the division and be a threat to make the playoffs. Which is far from brown bag on head worthy.

But yeah, we'll see.

Wait, winning your division isn't a big deal? LOL yeah ok.

Winning your division is far, far, far from brown bag on the head.

I wish the redskins won their division every year and it was considered "not really a big deal."

Saints are still a playoff contender but they are no longer an elite team and a rung below Seattle and SF.

Those Saints fans have it so rough, with winning their division every year, their QB throwing for 5k and 40 every year... man, how do that keep those brown bags off their heads??!?

The Saints will ONLY win their division because their division sucks. Not because they are so talented.

Panthers went 12-4 last year, had a first round bye, and one of the more dominant D's in the league.

sure it is. laugh all you want. You keep believing that is what matters. When you have had nothing for so long I am sure you are just starving for anything you can get.

I dont think winning the division is that big of a deal. It is nice but what you do after is what matters. Look at how many people still talk shit on THIS team even though we won the east 2 years ago.

I remember when making noise in the playoffs and going to the NFCC was what mattered. And if you didnt win it that year you were sure you'd get there the next.

Guaranteed playoffs and home playoff game is not that big of a deal? They'll wear brown bags on their heads because of it?

We get shit because we're a terribly run organization that couldn't take a nice end of 2012 and do anything with it other that create drama that caused the rest of the country to laugh at us constantly. We screw up even when we have success. We can't put together back to back seasons worth a crap.

But ok - winning the division isn't a big deal to you. I got it.

but the bucs, falcons, and pathers are all going to suck this year.

don't worry about it. no reason to play the games. the whole NFC south is a laughing stock.

well, since this is just becoming where you 2 have decided to mock someone elses opinion I am going to stop.

enjoy the rest of this conversation. I will not be engaging anymore.

Not mocking, disagreeing. The Saints and Panthers are both very good football teams. Could they fall off the NFL map this year? Sure, I guess, it could happen to any team. But that defense in Carolina is stout, and the Saints offense never slows down. Just seems far fetched to claim the division with 33% of last year's NFC playoff teams is "weak."

the only thing i'm mocking is the idea that winning the division isn't a big deal. you went from saying their fans will put bags on their heads again (which implies they'll be an awful team) to backtracking to they'll probably win their division, but winning the division isn't a big deal.

Sorry but winning the division and locking up a playoff berth with home field advantage in at least the wild card round matters.

If it didn't the league wouldn't have adjusted its schedule algorithm to make sure we have divisional matchups at the end of the year - to determine who wins divisions.

The 2012 finale was moved into prime time because the winner of the skins/cowboys game was going to win the division. Whoever didn't win was having their season ended.

Wining the division matters in this sport.

The Seahags won their division at 7-9, hosted the saints, and beat them. Home playoff games are so important...
