Just remember that the Cardinals also thought Boldin, Dansby and Rodgers-Cromartie were expendable off their Super Bowl team.

Dansby was a pro bowl backer in Miami, Boldin was a leader on a Super Bowl team and Cromartie for Kolb was one of the worst trades in recent years.

Roberts could elevate here, I think it depends on his work ethic.

what I'm seeing is that he'll be a number 3. Apparently the draft is stocked with receivers this year. The expectation is that we draft a guy. Plus hankerson may actually work out this year.

We'll see. I think a healthy Griffin with Garcon is going to allow for other receivers to play above their abilities...

Of course I'll give him a chance.

But that doesn't mean I have to like the signing. Like I said, this is not the first time we've signed another team's #3 to #2 money. I don't like that, and I never will.

Listening to Bob Poppa and Ross Tucker on NFL Radio this morning, they thought it was a good move on a young receiver who still has plenty of upside.

None of those guys elevated their play after they left Arizona. They were simply the same level of player that they were in AZ (at best).

Roberts is a #3 WR who has averaged 34.2 yards per game over the course of his four year career.
 
I really think some folks are dreaming it up a bit with Hankerson. Roberts is definitely going to be a #3?

Hankerson is not only coming off an ACL but has been a very inconsistent player with the Redskins, showing little big play potential and dropping some key passes over time.

If we draft a receiver in the first couple of rounds I could see Roberts as the #3 over time.

But if we don't invest much more in the position I think you are looking at the #2.

He's also played in Fitzgerald's shadow his entire career, arguably one of the top 3 receivers in the league since being drafted. With the shitty QBs Arizona has had, the offensive game plan is force it to Fitz, unless he's triple covered, then chuck it to any red jersey you see. Lol.

Definitely going to be a #3? No, I don't think there's anything definite about that. We have Garcon - after that we have nothing. We're assuming morgan and moss are both gone, and hankerson is coming off injury (like you said) and robinson is on a short term deal and I don't think anyone expects anything new out of him.

But there's a hole at #2 and #3, and I think idealy roberts would fill he #3 spot. As people have mentioned, he's not a #2 on paper (yet). So I think the feeling is that our front office feels the same way.

We need weapons. Griffin needs targets. We'll see how they round it out.

Maybe Roberts comes into training camp and surprises everyone, the same way Garcon did.
 
Morgan is definitely gone, they voided his contract.

From the way he moped around after Hankerson took his spot in the lineup I bet Morgan was on the first plane out of here after the exit interviews.

I have a feeling he's a replacement for Moss, no more. If he has time at #2... all the better, but I think this is to replace Moss.

Other than his strengths don't really fall in-line with Moss', but whatever... :biggrin-new:

Doesn't seem like we are jettisoning many players from a 3-13 team.

Moss is 35 years old. That money can't be more gainfully employed?

Former Cardinals WR Andre Roberts reached agreement on a 4-yr, $16 million deal with the Redskins, per source.
 
I'd have no problem if they decided to pay $2 mil a year for Tana to ride the bench, just so he retires in a Skins' jersey.
