MMA: UFC, Strikeforce, etc.

Predictions for tonite anyone ?
I'm actually looking more forward to the Kampmann fight myself, moreso than the GSP.
Kampmann has become one of my favorite fighters, and I also honestly think it will be more interesting than the GSP fight.

I can't wait to see GSP back. He's one of my all-time favorites.

Yeah, I've always liked him. He also made me a lot of money when he beat Matt Hughes. So that is probably part of it.

I like Silva, but I'll be pulling for GSP in that one. That's a dream fight I can't wait for.

You say that, as if that fight will actually happen

Well, let's hope so, right? And it had better happen quickly, while both fighters are still in/near their prime. I don't want to see it three years from now.

GSP/Diaz would also be great. Jones/Silva, Jones/GSP would also be incredible.

I know many of those fights I just listed may never happen, but wow, they would be huge. Probably the biggest fights in UFC history.

Well, I hear Dana recently stated if GSP wins, his next fight will be Silva.
But even with that statement, I won't believe it til I see it.
Dana has little credibility, IMO

I'm no fan of Dana, and more specifically of the owners of UFC, for personal financial reasons.

That being said, they all want money. GSP/Silva would be their biggest draw to date. All involved would get rich.

Fear, I've also heard the if Condit wins, GSP's next fight will be against Diaz.

I understand completely how the business is driven about money. But obviusly none of that matters, if neither fighter, or even just one of the fighters, does not want the fight.

Fear, I've also heard the if Condit wins, GSP's next fight will be against Diaz.

That's what I believe is the most likely scenario - in fact, a certain scenario.
Which is but one reason I take Dana's comments about Silva, with a grain of salt.

Ugh. Lawlor got robbed.

Ouch. That is what you call KTFO, Kampmann.

GSP and Condit.....that's the kind of fight that fans deserve.
Score wasn't really close except fot the middle of the fight, but exciting from start to finish, and you knew anything could happen at any moment. One of the best fights ever.

Wow! Hats off to both fighters.

GSP may not be the GOAT, but surely he's in the top four or five.

I'll take him over Silva. He's too strong, and Silva looked a little scared tonight.

I believe he'll kill Silva.

I also believe that GSP would take Jones right now, due to a rookie mistake. Jones is the future, without any doubt. But GSP is the present.

GSP would beat Silva, the exact same way you saw him beat Condit.
Takedown defense is the chink in Silva's armor. And GSP would complete what Sonnen failed to do to Silva, because GSP is a better wrestler and a more intelligent fighter than Sonnen.

Really ? You're comparing GSP's game, to Bonnar and Griffin ? That makes no sense.
As for pressure and punches, GSP proved last night that he can not only take it, but escape it, rebound, and dominate the rest of a fight, as if those punches he took never happened. Most fighters would have been finished after being in the position Condit put him in, in the 3rd round. I suppose the theory that GSP can't take hits, is an out-dated inaccurate theory based on a fight with Serra that happened 5 years ago.
Besides, GSP isn't going to put himself in position to take hits from Silva. I don't know of anybody that can withstand direct hits from Silva. Which is why GSP is going straight for the takedown the same way he did against Condit. And the same way Sonnen went for it initially against Silva.

the "juiced up" issue is irrelevant to the topic.
Juiced up or not, Bonnar is nowhere near the fighter that GSP is, or Silva is.
Bonnar and GSP should not be compared in any way - neither in their level of talent, nor in their style of game, which is entirely different.

If they ever actually fight (before they're 90 yeras old, that is) I will just be happy that they're actually and finally fighting, that any disagreements with fellow fans will be overshadowed by that excitement that they are truly fighting.
