MMA: UFC, Strikeforce, etc.

Now that is the Donald Cerrone I remember from WEC. Good for him!

Unbelievable. I'm not surprised he won, but if you would have told me it was going to be a 1-punch KO, I would have never guessed it'd be at the hands of Cerrone. Guess that reach advantage was a factor

He caught him with that kick that set it all up. His shin caught Melvin right across the forehead, Melvin was essentially dead on his feet before Cerrone finished him with that punch.

Cerrone can take a punch! He may drop, but he gets right back up!

Gotta give Frankie Edgar a lot of credit, I thought he was going to get submitted. I did not think he'd last.

I am a firm believer that the champion deserves the benefit of the doubt in a close fight, it is incumbent upon the challenger to take the belt. However, Frankie did enough to win that fight. Meh, I guess the old saying goes...just don't leave it in the judges hand's.

White is just upset because the fighters who could fill in on a moments notice just fought a few weeks ago. He has no money makers in the Light Heavy weight barn anymore other than Jones and the 2 who just fought. He shoulda asked Chuck Lidell or Randy Couture to fill in! In all seriousness, I bet Rashad would have jumped at the chance.

Regardless, White shouldn't have cancelled the whole card either. He could have worked a deal for the rest of the card to fight on Fox. He could have re-couped a lot of money there and there are some young up and comers who are going to miss an opportunity. And 98 was giving me a hard time for suggesting there are some shady things going on in the UFC!

So Jones doesn't think a fight with Sonnen would draw the same amount of money as Hendo ? It would probably draw more.
All those retired athletes he's talking about, that are broke, are surely broke for other reasons than what he stated
Sounds like he's making some BS excuses

Thanks for the recap.

Is it me, or are UFC matchups becoming increasingly more boring and un-excitable ?

It's becoming harder for me to maintain serious interest, with the quality of matches declining.

He's faced some really stiff opponents, and he's never once been finished, other than cuts.
Going the distance with Jon Jones is certainly notable.
I do give him a chance.
But yea, I wouldn't pay $55 for it.

That last round Fitch just pummeled silva, the ref should've stopped that, not alot of physical damage you could see but 100 punches to the face and head has to cause something.
