Shanahan believed in his system so much we started John Beck, his ego got in the way of running a successful team, hated the hire then (my fb memories remind how much I hated it, I was hoping to land Gruden once Tampa let him go) hate it even more now and enjoy watching his son get sooooo close to a ring and then get DENIED.

Worst coach was Spurrier - but like many college coaches he wasn't cut out for the NFL, see Petrino and Saban a few years later.

Yeah, I think it’s hands down Shanahan. People forget that he’s the one who brought over Bruce Allen. He also had one of the most incredible coaching staffs ever assembled and squandered it by giving Jim Haslett the keys to our defense. Folks also forget the miserable roster management (trades, free agents, and high draft picks) of that era, too- Donovan Mcnabb, Jeremy Jarmon, Jason Taylor, Jarvis Jenkins, Leonard Hankerson, John Beck, Rex Grossman, Josh LeRibeus, David Amerson…

^^
Far be it for me to give a full throated defense of Mike Shanahan.

But he leads in one very important area: Purple Nirples.

Jay: 1
Shanahan: 0

Ergo, Jay is worse than Mike because that's the ultimate judge of ineptitude. If a player twerks your nipple ON CAMERA, you have no discipline or respect of the locker room.

Jay stinks.
