Who was the Redskins' biggest disappointment of 2015 ?

Those fans are emotional, impatient and unrealistic.

How long do you think it takes to turn a dumpster fire around in the NFL? How long does it take for the team to learn a new offense? How long to stop all of the drama and change a losing culture? How long to go from worst to first in the division?

A few weeks? A few months?

Hopefully not as long as it's taking the Bengals to win a playoff game... I lost count but they're up to what 5 or 6 straight seasons to the playoffs without a single win.

The difference between 2012 and 2015 is that the Redskins with Cousins, Reed, Jackson, etc. are running an NFL offense with an NFL offensive line to protect the qb in the pocket.

The Redskins have done some smoke and mirrors on defense in the secondary where we have guys off the street come in and give credible if not better than that performances at CB and S.

But with Chris Culliver coming back in 2016 and Hall's move to safety perhaps permanent there is a credible case the team can improve from within at those spots, before we even consider adding in the draft and free agency.

So, to me there is no comparison to 2012.

what is the ONLY criteria for a successful HC?

SUPERBOWL victories. real victories...not tag lines.

until then...the jury is still convened and deliberating.

So Marv Levy was unsuccessful? I mean he is in the hall of fame.

While I might agree with the sentiment (which is all it is) a successful HC does not always have to win the Superbowl IMO
These guys didn't win one but in my book they are still considered pretty successful as HC

Bud Grant
George Allen
Marv Levy
Bobby Ross
Jim Harbaugh
John Fox

The below listed winners would not particularly make my list of 'outstanding' guys in the job.

Mike Ditka
George Seifert
Barry Switzer
Tony Dungy

In my estimation, Coaches who innovate, make adjustments and evaluates for the betterment of the team while maintaining consistent competiveness on the field are successful. If the coach is good at what he does the wins will come as proper talent is acquired. As proper talent is acquired the innovations, adjustments and evaluations become more visible to the fan's eye.

Of course, nowadays the coaches demeanor in public must also be considered, no way can a successful coach have a bad day in front of the camera. ;)

I read CT's post about messing with the joo joo and I think I know why the Redskins are winning...Goal stopped drinking Frankenberry and Booberry beers! At least he doesn't discuss them anymore.

Off to the game...HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!!!

I have butterflies in my stomach...nerves itching...pumped! I can't wait til game time!

OK, one more thing then I am heading out. This morning I awakened to my wife screaming, "There's a bird in the house!!!" She grabbed the kids and ran upstairs. Why make the kids scared? I don't know, but she kinda freaked them out.

So I ran downstairs, grabbed a coat to try to force it out the door. When I got to where it was flying around, I discovered it was a bat. It's January in the DC area...a bat? I ended up forcing the bat out the door and informed my wife the blood sucking bat was gone...freaked her out even more.

Omen?

Well, she looks up the meaning behind finding a bat flying through the house...

Transformation, change, intuition...

Does that mean anything?

In the 1980's I used to bring a 'breast' flask of schnapps and HC to RFK to help 'stay warm' before the game started.

Too bad after 9/11, the world had to 'grow up' and they had to try and eliminate the secret pleasures we had in attending the NFL :(

You could probably still get a flask in, but why Peach Schnapps? We used Peppermint Schnapps with HC and drank peppermint patties.

Used peppermint schnapps. Never said peach (?).

In Georgetown we used to call them 'benchwarmers' :D

The biggest disappointment was that the Redskins played two of their worst games in big situations. First, the Dallas MNF game. Thankfully, they rebounded and had a chance to make up for that one. But the game today, no rebounding from this one. Very poor effort all around. There is plenty of blame for players and coaches. There was a lot of great things this year, but coming up short in big games is something they need to improve.
