Letthepointssoar as I have also said to Spearfeather fans with Native American heritage are the fans I feel the most for in this situation. While Spearfeather does not identify as a Native American, he is just as passionate as I am on the topic. I understand you being upset. With that said, as a lifelong fan of the team and somebody who has a basement full of Washington Redskins memorabilia…I invite you to stick with our team. While I have accepted and embraced the change…I will never accept people trashing our former brand. I will never be ashamed or embarrassed when talking about our former name. I firmly believe the name and brand was used with respect and was not intended to be derogatory in any way. However, the times change and it isn’t all waiting on me and what I think.

For me, it’s like a daughter who marries and changes her name. She is still the same person with a new last name.

I sure hope you guys come to grips with the name soon because this is a little depressing in here now.

We just had our best season in 30 years.
We have rid ourselves of the little Farquaad.
We FINALLY have our franchise QB.
We have our next Bobby Beathard in AP.

I was also going to list that we have a great owner too, but it seems that some of you want to run Harris out of town over the name now.

I can't stand the name either but what can I do about it? I'm too old to do the Debbie Downer thing so I'll try to make the best of it and move on.

Always remember that Snyder wants us to wallow in our pain so don't feed that little Farquaad.

I understand this thought process. The anger and disappointment behind it, and why some would choose to continue to beat this drum..but in February 2025 with our best season in 33 years behind us, with everything that we have going for us…why continue to die on this hill?

I’m really not in need of a written answer it’s more a rhetorical question. I get the wounds are fresh, but I really hope that everybody especially the Facebook crowd can just find a way to not poison the well. There is so much to look forward to in the coming years.

I think the best way we can all proceed is let folks react how they want to react, whether that’s ambivalence, rage, or happiness it’s settled. It will calm down soon. If it’s irritating maybe don’t enter the name change thread, lol. And there’s no one that doesn’t recognize the promising season and future… obviously the name is a separate topic and most can compartmentalize.

I’ve about ranted myself out so I’m guessing there’s hope for the rest of you.

I don’t mind the W, it stands for wins. That said, I think the crest is one of the better parts of the new brand, and putting it on the helmets is a good idea.

The W is selling. I think for many who may not like the name they do like the W. Not everybody, but most. With that said, expanding it on a greco-roman shield background with crossed spears or something like that could be cool. Most of the landmark buildings in D.C. are built in that style so it would fit very well especially if they go back to RFK.
 
I do like the crest also, it reminds me of challenge coins. A cool merchandising possibility would be to sell them, and the fans could produce them on demand like the military tradition. I do hope we see a new Super Bowl year added to that variation shortly. The one on the black jersey would look good on the helmet also as an alternate to the numbers.
 
The W is almost as lame as the name. Nobody I know likes it and it appears to be unpopular around here too.

For me, they will always be the "Redskins".

Hence my name.

I'll use it when nescessary, and use the name "Washington" the rest of time.

But I'll never use the name "Commanders". It's a dreadful name that I don't care for.
