What was your favorite cereal growing up?

You gotta be dedicated though, no waiting for it to get soggy or mushy, gotta dig in when it'll still feel like shards of glass ripping open the roof of your mouth.
Yup!!

Then - Lucky Charms or Cookie Crisp

Now - limited due to gluten allergy so I usually go with one of the Chex cereals (the chocolate or peanut butter ones are fine with me).

Every once in awhile, I get an insatiable compulsion to have a big bowl of Raisin Bran or Life cereal for dinner. What is your top 'fantasy' cereal?

One of my ongoing Dad jokes that annoys the **** out of my kids is my requesting 'extra gluten' whenever we eat out. You'd be amazed at how many times this is taken seriously by wait staff ...

My parents wouldn't buy any of the sugary cereals. I grew up eating Raisin Bran. I'd usually add a teaspoon of sugar to the bowl though.

Yeah, ditto. I mean I would sleep over at friend’s house and breakfast would feel like Christmas morning! Instead of sugary Trix are for Kids, we got ‘Kix’ - ie… Trix with not a speck of sugar.

We ate a lot of Rice Krispies lol…

Oh the humanity

Same....but I added so much sugar to the Raisin Bran and Rice Krispies, that they would've been better off buying more Cap'n Crunch!

Remember those variety packs with the mini boxes of all kinds of great cereals? They were made with perforations so you could open the box, pour in the milk and eat it right out of the box? Do they still make those?

It's funny how most of the cereal brands are now 5+ bucks a box but the store brands are sometimes still 1.99.

Now days I just buy something like a raisin bran store brand, or one that has strawberry chunks in it.

I used to like Capt crunch but that stuff messes up my stomach now for some reason.

It also seems like the raisin bran cereals have a ton more sugar than they did when I was a kid.

My childhood was awesome. Born in 1959 I was the last of the sugar generation and it didn't kill me. Cereal was our main breakfast, mom was a single mom and she wasn't making omlettes. We ate a ton of them, Frosted Flakes, Fruit Loops, Rice Krispies seem to be the ones I remember having the most but I went from Sugar Pops to Shredded Wheat and liked them all.

I was born the same year. You would probably enjoy this:

My favorite cereal when I was a kid had to be Quisp. I could only get it at grandma's house in NC. I probably enjoyed it the most due to being at grandma's house more so than the taste of it.

Cap'n chrunch was my favorite at home.

Then you have to remember the epic battle between Quisp and Quake!

Yeah I liked this too, wife was walking by and it caught her eye. Thanks man. I remember having Quisp but not often, we were a Kellog's house. Don't think I every had Quake.
