What’s your Holiday menu look like?

I haven’t even thought about it yet - I’d better get my act together! Sounds amazing…

It's the same menu every year.
Prime Rib*
Grilled asparagus
Garlic mashed taters
Yeast Rolls
Whiskey

*One of the rare times that I cook a roast in the oven, instead of smoked and grilled. We love both methods, but really dig the way the house smells while it roasts.

Anything special you do with the rib roast? I may do a beef tenderloin on the pellet smoker. I usually season it with lemon pepper, put it in a foil pan with lots of butter and some lemon juice.

Since we are a mixed nationality we do a combo of both. It's cold in the US but hot as heck in Oz right now

Ham
Crab legs
Shrimp
Lobster tails
Mashed potatoes
Green bean casserole

Plus all the mules I can pour down my gullet

We have two meals that we alternate between for Christmas - this year is Prime Rib.

Horseradish Crusted Prime Rib (oven roasted - medium rare)
Mashed Potatoes
Green Been Casserole
Homemade Creamy Horseradish Sauce
some kind of bread (I haven't gotten there yet)
Malbec or a Cab Sav

Homemade Cheese Cake

So it begins…

I’m heading to Costco after work tomorrow. Pray for me.

Bit the bullet and did Whole Foods Amazon delivery. Not sure as to entire menu but got a standing rib roast, a turkey, and some salmon/shrimp/scallops/lobster (thinking kabobs).

How did the roast look?

Sight unseen and they were listed as being only 2.5 lbs so I ordered 2 of them. It’s jus lt my wife, son, and I. I have not done a standing rib roast before but going to make a paste with fresh garlic, rosemary, salt, and olive oil, coat it overnight then smoke it for 30minutes before finishing at higher heat.

If I don’t like the looks of it this evening may have to see what my local butcher has left

I am a visual learner. You all need to post pictures of the finished products of these great sounding menus. It will take this thread to another level. Makes me very jealous of all you carnivores.

I see your aborted Costco trip and raise you a trip to Total Wine.

They are putting on a clinic on how to print money at my local store that might interest agents from the Treasury Department.
