Oh, I hear you. And I understand. At some point though, the fans running the team HAS to be seen as a bad idea.

I agree entirely.

The only sport where I've seen that be successful is NASCAR. But that's a different story for a different thread.

The Eagles are not good this year. They were very good two year ago, not at all this year. We need a good showing.

Last season the Eagles were 1-4 and supposedly reeling and came in here.....and were up 20-0 in the second quarter.

I don't know why yall are looking to the Eagles game for hope, They are fighting for their season and jobs, our coach is giving up on the season..... I see them coming in and putting a real beating on us. I wish it we would come off the bye on fire, but I have seen no fire from this team at all lately.

There's no fire on this team currently because there is no accountability. That is on the coaches.

Guys could intentionally get ejected by officials, drop passes left and right, commit penalties week after week, miss assignments in critical situations and guess what? They'll be back in the lineup the next series or week.

This is how Shanahan rolls right now because very simply he's got inadequate starters, and even worse, behind them he's got zero depth.

Where does the blame fall for this one? Yep, Mike again.

It's funny because I recall Mike saying that this is the deepest the team has been since he got here if memory serves me correct (back in the offseason). If this is all he's got to show for it, that's a pretty scary situation.

When all is said and done, it will ultimately be the players who decide if Mike is back a season from now - not Dan. If they quit over the last seven weeks, Mike is toast, and we are staring another 5 year plan in the face again with no guarantee that our QB will be part of this operation at the end of his deal.

Scary when you think of it, but that is reality.

I realize that we are starting with a rookie QB and RB...but you would think that after 3 years we would see SOME kind of progress somewhere by now.

Whether we should fire Shanahan after this year....I don't know I keep going back and forth on that. I don't think Sean Payton is coming here under ANY circumstance.

In New Orleans he has everything in place for him to take the team on another Super Bowl run. Yes the D is a mess right now...but Spags system is not easy and it'll take a year to put it all together.

For the sake of discussion if Shanahan is out at the end of the year: Then who comes in here next year? There will not be a Gibbs 3.0.

there might be a defenses change next year but ,shanny will still be here it's in his contract unless they buy out his contract ! i think on offense were actully almost there pick up a good RT G WR like harvin ...switch back to 4-3 get some db's ss in tha draft rookies cant be any worse ! but i'm dreaming ..one good thing is we might have a kicker !

I've listened to (some, I wasn't there) of the comments made by Shanny and I don't understand why it's such a big deal. I think a team that's 3-6 going into a bye week needs to shake things up.
I'm not as PC as some so it's possible I'm missing something. Here's what I see here's a team with a very strong running game, a very mobile, efficient and accurate qb that has helped this team stay in games against 3 really good teams (Atlanta, Giants, Pittsburgh) this far.
If the Wrs could elevate themselves to just average when it comes to dropped passes The Skins are at least a .500 team. This with a Defense that plays pretty decent for 3 quarters and falls apart in the 4th quarter almost every game win or lose.
I didn't read or hear anything from Shanny to suggest he was throwing in the towel this season. It's my understanding that Shanny has admitted to himself that the teams prospects for post season play aren't real good. He would rather not be in that spot so early in the season.
He made the unkind and insensitive remark that (people are going to be playing for the jobs for the remainder of the season.) So what, Big effin deal! That's the way it should be. This team has way too many underachievers that seem to be content with the status quo. They should be playing for their jobs they owe it to themselves and the fans. I'd rather see the team lose with guys putting forth the effort than what I've been seeing. Next up is the Eagles that's what they need to focus on. They have 1 week to learn how to be average at catching the ball and defending the pass in the 4th quarter.
