There's no fire on this team currently because there is no accountability. That is on the coaches.
Guys could intentionally get ejected by officials, drop passes left and right, commit penalties week after week, miss assignments in critical situations and guess what? They'll be back in the lineup the next series or week.
This is how Shanahan rolls right now because very simply he's got inadequate starters, and even worse, behind them he's got zero depth.
Where does the blame fall for this one? Yep, Mike again.
It's funny because I recall Mike saying that this is the deepest the team has been since he got here if memory serves me correct (back in the offseason). If this is all he's got to show for it, that's a pretty scary situation.
When all is said and done, it will ultimately be the players who decide if Mike is back a season from now - not Dan. If they quit over the last seven weeks, Mike is toast, and we are staring another 5 year plan in the face again with no guarantee that our QB will be part of this operation at the end of his deal.
Scary when you think of it, but that is reality.
