This is all Brunell's fault.
Nice strawman. I mean that respectfully. You can make anyone's argument appear ludicrous by exaggerating it out.Due respect, gentlemen, but in my opinion some of you are reading far too much into this. If I'm reading the breeze here correctly ... a reporter with undefined "ties" to the head coach says he believes the mega-star franchise quarterback has a friendly relationship with the team owner, and from this, we draw the apparent conclusions that
1) the owner has reverted back to his early 2000's form,
2) the quarterback has lost all perspective and put his own self interest above and ahead of his team, and
3) the coach is hamstrung in his dealings with both said star quarterback and said owner, and therefore
4) all is lost and we are looking at another 20 years of suck.
Did I miss anything?
I agree with you.Losing streaks ...
None of this matters. What matters is whether or not we are winning. Losing streaks bring out the conspiracy theories. Sometimes there's no magic secret juju that's causing a team to lose. Sometimes a team just isn't playing well.
The Redskins just aren't playing well.
Actually, I don't think any of us want Snyder to focus on running the team at all. I'm pretty sure we want him to focus on letting others do that at this point.Snyder should focus on figuring out how to run a competent, winning football team. When he does I'll stop caring about the special treatment he gives certain players.
Spare us the 'strawman' cliche. Anyone can go back through the thread pick out the reactionary stuff I was referring to.Nice strawman. I mean that respectfully. You can make anyone's argument appear ludicrous by exaggerating it out.
I also can't figure out why there are so many redskins fans that don't understand shefter's ties to Shanahan. They aren't undefined. They're actually pretty well defined. You should look into it.
Spare you the cliche? It's exactly what you did. But get pissy about it if you must.Spare us the 'strawman' cliche. Anyone can go back through the thread pick out the reactionary stuff I was referring to.
As far as the "many redskins fans that don't understand shefter's ties to Shanahan ... ", thanks for the free advice, but I know what they are as well as you do. I've just not chosen to accept that anything and everything that comes out of his mouth is, on some level, scripted by Shanahan and loaded with messages intended for Snyder.
If you have anything concrete to support either statement, feel free to offer it up.I hate snyder. He hasn't leaned his lesson and never will.
There's a reason the other owners hate him too.
Since you apparently know what he IS focusing on, rather than what you think he should be, do share? Same for the special treatment he's giving "certain players," which in this case, presumably, is Robert? What treatment is that?Snyder should focus on figuring out how to run a competent, winning football team. When he does I'll stop caring about the special treatment he gives certain players.
Do tell on the"inmates" cliche. What specific stuff?I hope we're not back to the inmates running the asylum but this offseason was suggesting it, and now this comes out. (Shefter has all but admitted that what he says about the redskins is what Mike Shanahan wants him to say about the redskins.)
That sucks.Yeah t, I'm 'pissy.' It's just my nature.
Spare me the deflected cliche.Meanwhile, because you have deflected away from the reactionary comments that are the actual subject at hand ... here's what I was getting at.
The original post? But that's right, that source isn't good enough...If you have anything concrete to support either statement, feel free to offer it up.

Players having more weight than coaches. We'll see if it goes back to that way or not, but I think most people would agree Snyder is in griffin's court, not shanahans.Do tell on the"inmates" cliche. What specific stuff?
He admitted it. I'd share links but you don't like any sources. And I'm also not sure what "all but admitted" means. Did he say it or are you inferring it? Have a link?
Did you see all the interviews with griffin and his father? It seems all of the "inmates running the asylum" stuff started on a Monday night against Philly.
Prior to that all I saw was our franchise qb working his ass off to get healthy an an anxiousness to get back on the field. What an outrage.
Where in his post did Om say he was addressing you specifically? Also no where did I say he reverted back to his early 2000's. One player is not anywhere near what Snyder used to do...
I also never said griffin has lost all prospective. I think he's entirely too smart for that.
I never said all is lost for 20 years.
But you're right. 1 out of 4, must not be a strawman.
I thought about it for a second. Then settled on just enjoying the comedic value instead.I'm not going to be first person banned in this thread.
I think that it was quickly shot down because it was seen for what it was...much ado about nothing. It's now getting a little play, from those predisposed to drama, because it's another straw to grasp at by those looking for one.Did you see all the interviews with griffin and his father?
Did you see his interview about what he sent Trey Wingo?
This stuff went on and there were threads about it here. It was just quickly shot down in the offseason by most everyone and now it only gets a little more play because the team is struggling.
He made it clear he was addressing the thread which, at that time was mcd5 and me (everyone else is in the media drama camp.) then he went and grabbed my quotes and no one else's.Where in his post did Om say he was addressing you specifically?
See, this is what bothers me. Anyone with criticism gets written off in one way or another, every time. You chose to label us as predisposed to drama, for instance. Others choose similar tactics, and it all means the same thing: our opinions don't matter, and are subject to being written off and belittled, because you don't like them.I think that it was quickly shot down because it was seen for what it was...much ado about nothing. It's now getting a little play, from those predisposed to drama, because it's another straw to grasp at by those looking for one.
I remain a believer in Robert. If he has gotten a little caught up in himself, and I'm not saying he has, it's not hard to see why.
