None of this matters. What matters is whether or not we are winning. Losing streaks bring out the conspiracy theories. Sometimes there's no magic secret juju that's causing a team to lose. Sometimes a team just isn't playing well.

Due respect, gentlemen, but in my opinion some of you are reading far too much into this. If I'm reading the breeze here correctly ... a reporter with undefined "ties" to the head coach says he believes the mega-star franchise quarterback has a friendly relationship with the team owner, and from this, we draw the apparent conclusions that

1) the owner has reverted back to his early 2000's form,
2) the quarterback has lost all perspective and put his own self interest above and ahead of his team, and
3) the coach is hamstrung in his dealings with both said star quarterback and said owner, and therefore
4) all is lost and we are looking at another 20 years of suck.

Did I miss anything?

I also can't figure out why there are so many redskins fans that don't understand shefter's ties to Shanahan. They aren't undefined. They're actually pretty well defined. You should look into it.

I agree with you.

I just find the side show stuff interesting. There's quite some interesting stuff going on with Griffin off the field. On one hand you have the people that will write off any criticism, on the other you have the people looking for any reason to criticize him; then there is the whole middle area.

How it's all looked at 20 years from now will depend on how successful the team is with him. You get away with a hell of a lot more if you win.

Snyder should focus on figuring out how to run a competent, winning football team. When he does I'll stop caring about the special treatment he gives certain players.

Actually, I don't think any of us want Snyder to focus on running the team at all. I'm pretty sure we want him to focus on letting others do that at this point.

It's funny you say it's not scripted by Shanahan because Shefter pretty much said, on his weekly spot on the sports fix on espn980, that he meets with Shanahan once a week and Shanahan tells him what he wants out there.

Since you apparently know what he IS focusing on, rather than what you think he should be, do share? Same for the special treatment he's giving "certain players," which in this case, presumably, is Robert? What treatment is that?

I hope we're not back to the inmates running the asylum but this offseason was suggesting it, and now this comes out. (Shefter has all but admitted that what he says about the redskins is what Mike Shanahan wants him to say about the redskins.)

Prior to that all I saw was our franchise qb working his ass off to get healthy an an anxiousness to get back on the field. What an outrage.

If Robinson doesn't mini-juggle that TD pass, we're almost certainly not having this conversation. Instead we're talking about leveling off at 2-2 day after tomorrow and how sweet it is to watch Robert get stronger and more confident with each passing week. No pun intended.

Players having more weight than coaches. We'll see if it goes back to that way or not, but I think most people would agree Snyder is in griffin's court, not shanahans.

He made it clear he was addressing the thread which, at that time was mcd5 and me (everyone else is in the media drama camp.) then he went and grabbed my quotes and no one else's.

There's only like 5, maybe 6, people on the board that have posted any criticism (using criticism loosely) of griffin. (Elephant, fansince62, mcd5, and me. I'm sure there is a person or two I'm missing) I haven't seen anyone on this site say those things either. Maybe in the media, but not the media I read *shrug*

See, this is what bothers me. Anyone with criticism gets written off in one way or another, every time. You chose to label us as predisposed to drama, for instance. Others choose similar tactics, and it all means the same thing: our opinions don't matter, and are subject to being written off and belittled, because you don't like them.

So be it. It's become a worthless fight. Pretty much everyone is doing it now.

I too am a believer in him. I also understand how he could get caught up a little (if he has) . I think it'll all be fine, I still have high hopes for the season. But if this season goes down hill I'll be really curious to see how the dynamic between Snyder, griffin, and Shanahan change (if at all)
