Anyone into gaming? Can't remember if this question has ever been posed, but what ya playin?

Most recently MLB The Show 24 on PS5 since I can play with some friends online. I've got 3-4 other games I want to play and have them but haven't had time. Once the clock moves back is normally when I really get my gaming in since there's no sunlight late in the day. This time of year, yard work, pool, grill and baseball and football take priority.

Playing a fair amount of Overwatch, some Helldivers 2, some Borderlands. Sometimes, you just feel the need to shoot all the things.

I am still stuck on Tecmo Super Bowl from 1990 as my favourite all time video game. I ran across Retro Bowl, which is basically Tecmo Super Bowl on steroids. It can be quite addicting and is played directly from your phone. It's so amazing, challenging, and fun.

I stubbornly refuse to update past Madden19 as that's the last version with the Redskins :giggle:

Apart from that I play RDR2 (second play through) and No Man's Sky.

I’m slowly playing Remnant II and having a blast with it. I just don’t have as much time to game as I used to. Maybe in a couple of years.

Fortnite with my son occasionally
COD zombies with a buddy since it just came out, that’ll last like 5 or 6 weeks

That’s really it for me these days

Jesus - I am an old man when it comes to video games. I'm playing Solitaire and Galaga on my phone :behindsofa:

Conan Exiles on PC.

Zelda and Mario games on the Switch lately though I did finish Diablo 3 a few times on it as well.

For the past four years, I've been racing and managing Nascar Racing 2003 leagues. Kind of a weird way to spend my time if I think about it, but it's cheaper than an iRacing subscription. Just sucks that the teenagers who were born after I started racing it are better than I am. :bigcry:

Besides that, Civilization V will keep me preoccupied until Red Dead Redemption 1 goes on sale on PC. That might be a while.

Finally playing Final Fantasy VII Remake and it is a blast. The music is intense and keeps you going. This is the first game in a long time that I get completely lost in and forget what time it is.

Remake or Rebirth? The latter is from this year.

Remake. I have Rebirth as well, but wanted to play the first one first. This is my first Final Fantasy Game. Seems I’ve been missing out all these years. I know the games have gone through a transformation here recently, but still wished I had been playing them.

Try out the Octopath games too. Those are really fun new games like the old Final fantasy games. I've played both of those and it's a lot of fun. Better than probably anything else on the Nintendo switch. I also like the Zelda games if you are into open world games. You can run around and do whatever you want in those games.

Octopath is definitely on my radar. I still haven’t played the first one. Thanks for the recommendation. I didn’t like the Zelda games on Switch.

For anyone that likes ‘80s movies you need to check out BroForce. It’s a side scroller but the interesting thing is you play as Rambo or Chuck Norris or Arnie. There are a ton of characters you play as from the movies but they are named slightly off like Rambro. It’s a game that’s cheap, is lol fun and doesn’t take itself seriously. No thinking in this game. Just run, shoot and kill.

Little story for you...

I play Fortnite regularly. Never used to, and honestly, it's not really my type of game. I've always been more a sort of RTS kinda player. Give me Command and Conquer type games (Starcraft was my absolute fave).

Basically, my brother and I had a big fall out a while back, and relations between us was strained for years. When he had his kids we started to make an effort to get together more and mend some bridges. IT was slow going, but working and then the Pandemic hit. The forced isolation set us back massively. It probably shouldn't have, but it did.

Roll on this year, and contact between us was sporadic at best. And then our father died in July.

At the funeral, I saw my nephews for the first time in almost 4 years. They're now 8 and 9 years old and are BIG Fortnite players. We chatted about the game at the wake afterwards and I admit it was lovely to get to know them again. We talked about Fortnite ALOT and eventually the conversation turned to 'Uncle Jon, will you come play Fortnite with us?'

I couldn't say no.

So I dragged my gamer wife in to play too. And my brother joined us. And now we have regular Fortnite nights. It's pretty much saved my relationship with my brother as we talk almost every day now about all manner of things including football. (alas he's a Buccs fan!)

I've been gaming since I was a child. Spectrum, Amiga 500, Megadrive, NES, SNES, Gamecube, N64, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox360, XBox One... I really thought I'd be able to hold my own in the game against a 8 year old and an 9 year old.
But... I am categorically AWFUL at Fortnite.

I don't see that changing any time soon, but I do enjoy REALLY playing with my nephews. They're simply adorable the way they look after me in the game and BRUTAL in their unfiltered assessment of my game. I was playing with the 8 year old on Monday evening and I apologised for being rubbish (we'd just come 24th as a Duo) and he simply said. "That's okay Uncle Jon, I'm getting used to it!"
OUCH!

We consistently have games where he racks up 20 kills, and I get maybe a token 2 if I'm lucky. LOL
