Two Issues

Fyi, this is for the mobile site on my phone.

First issue I'm having is posting images and gifs in the funny thread. Whenever I try to post an image I get an error notification - it won't let me submit just the pic unless I add text to it. Is this intended? I've been able to trick it by typing a single period or punctuation for the time being.

My second question/issue - when in the main forums none of the threads are showing page number jumps or "last page". The page numbers and last page buttons are there on the full desktop site though. Is there a way to enable the pages/last page for mobile?

On the second one- I’m using an iPhone and when I am in vertical mode it shows what page I’m on (like 3 of 3) and a button for previous page. When horizontal it looks just like on desktop or tablet.

Sorry, forgot to say I'm using android and in vertical mode.

When I'm inside the thread the page buttons are there. They are not showing for each thread when I'm on the main Sons of Washington, 5 o'clock, etc. The page number quick jumps are not showing when I'm in horizontal either.

Yeah, I see that, too. Only a page button at the bottom for the entire forum.

On the 1st issue, I can't replicate that issue. There are a lot of factors when it comes to mobile use - what phone you use, what browser you use, phone version, etc.. One thing I wanted to mention is that photos (especially large ones) take a bit to load. Sometimes an image file has not fully uploaded and if you hit post reply it will not work until that image upload is complete (you will see a mini version of the image pop up below the reply box once it's fully uploaded. That may not be your issue, just throwing it out there on the chance that's what is happening. The other thing I will mention is that we do have an App that many of us use for mobile access. It has it's own idiosyncracies but for most of us is the best option for phone use. The BGO App instructions are stickied at the top of the Sons of Washington forum if you want to try and install it. Sometimes folks have trouble getting it set up but might be worth a try.

On the 2nd issue, I think this is 'by design' (don't you hate when someone tells you that). If you want to go to the first post of a thread listed in the Sons of Washington forum for example, you just hit the thread title - and it always takes you to the 1st post of the thread. If you want to go to the most recent (aka 'last') post, you hit the date and it takes you to the most recent post. I guess Xenforo thinks those would be the two logical needs when going into a thread from the main screen?

Thanks for looking into it, Boone. I use Opera as my browser and won't be changing that (nothing compares to the speed dial home), so I'll just have to work around these small issues if the browser is the culprit. Thanks again.

Let me look at your settings

I have only gotten one since 8:30, I just cleared my browsing history but before doing that I got this email at 12:12 today. I wasn't aware I had selected to follow a certain thread.

I've gotten 4 message since 1:00, the last at 2:02. They all read "there is a new reply to a watched thread". Please make it stop, I look at a lot of threads.

I think those are holdovers from before we changed your settings. You can manually ‘unwatch’ any thread once you’ve opened it. I did that for the threads I saw you were ‘watching’. If you get more emails, try manually unwatching. I think your settings will keep you from watching future threads

I figured out my issue with posting memes. If I press the "Attach files" button it forces me to type text to post. If I press the little picture icon instead it will let me post an image without typing any text.
