As someone who's played TLOU part 1 and 2, the show is probably the best video game adaptation to TV/movie ever. I'm so glad they stayed true to the video game. And they had to because that whole part is what drives the entire story. In the first game, he's the entire story. In the 2nd game, he's indirectly the entire story due to his selfish nature/actions which nobody can blame him for really.

I remember playing it for the first time and just being completely jaw dropped at that moment in the game. It's even more brutal in the game than the show.

I wish they killed Karl in season 2 of The Walking Dead then I probably would have stopped watching that trash show before the end of Season 4. That show got so terrible. I cannot believe how long they milked that franchise and still are.

Love the marvel stuff but how many more times can we watch them?

The awkward, embarrassing and stupid dynamic between the mother & daughter in Landman is making what should be a great series, borderline unwatchable. Those scenes are overlong filler that adds nothing to the story. If it continues, we'll end up bailing on it.

Sheridan has seemingly fallen into a trap by trying to cater to all people with Landman. My wife loves the mother and daughter portrayals, I think they are cheap and insulting to women. We both enjoy the other aspects of the story.

I haven't watched Landman, but that sounds A LOT like Casey and his wife in Yellowstone. Their whole "storyline" was by far the worst part about that show. It's when I would go to the bathroom or fast forward or something.

Landman season 2 was very good

I hate that so many good shows are on apps. We have Prime, HBO and one other. I also pay a lot for cable with all the bells and whistles we require. So I have a firm rule not to spend any more money on TV so we miss the Apple TV and Hulu shows.

We just finished The Beast In Me the other night on Netflix. Stars Claire Danes (Homeland), Matthew Rhys (The Americans), and Johnathon Banks (Mike on BB & BCS). From the producers of Homeland.

Really, huh? I have sort of avoided it because the trailer was…well…fucking odd. 🤣

A few shows I’ve watched recently:

- Season 4 of Bridgerton. Don’t laugh. And I think it might have been my favorite since season 1. Wife likes it and we watch together. Season 4 is a Cinderella story. I can’t imagine anybody who would be interested doesn’t know the general premise, but it’s 1800s English high society and the wedding season where they mar matches for high society. This season brings in what non-elites in society do.

- In from the Cold. I had a hard time staying engaged with it at first, but it’s a twisty/turny thriller that has some sci-fi in it. Story of a Russian operative who has a life in the US, had a daughter travels abroad to Spain for her daughter’s skating competition, and then gets mixed up in some save the world type of shenanigans. Brain candy but pretty good.

- Season 4 of The Lincoln Lawyer. I really liked seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 didn’t keep my interest, but I thought season 4 was outstanding. Also, they figured out how to get Nev Campbell actually involved in the plot in a meaningful way other than just random ex-wife and that was really good. For those that don’t know the general premise, it’s about a defense lawyer who works cases out of his Lincoln. Good cast. Each season focuses around a primary case. No spoilers but this is a really good case.

- Season 3 of the NightAgent. The whole premise of the night agent, essentially an arm of the FBI which works directly for the president and does special ops stuff is wonky. But it’s a good brain candy, suspense-thriller thing.

- interview with the Vampire -Netflix show (not movie). From what I hear this is closer to the books and it’s great. Warning though, for those that care, without spoiling anything, there is a lot of homosexuality in the show. Along with the blood sucking vampires. I haven’t watched season 2 yet, which is out. One of the best produced and acted shows I’ve seen in a long time. It’s the same basic story as the movie.

- The Diplomat season 3: MAYBE my favorite season of the diplomat. I love Kerri Russell. And the addition of two west wing alums (Alison Janey and Bradley Whitley) added some serious juice. If you haven’t seen this show, I couldn’t recommend it more, but go back and start at season 1. Kerri Russell plays the us ambassador to the UK. Her husband is a former ambassador and a piece of work. It’s a great show.

I should add, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is the best Game of Thrones material since the season 6 finale of the show. Easy watch and absolutely excellent.

I wouldn't have ever watched it for that same reason but my sister-in-law gave me a nudge.
