I remember taking advantage of the ES Classified feed a few times over the years. One of the things I liked about it was that a 'skins fan knew their tickets would go to another 'skins fan and one likely to be loud. The other thing I liked about it was that for the most part board members didn't try to screw/scalp over other board members. Very often, I was able to get tickets for face price because someone just couldn't make the game or the cost of season tickets was so high that they planned only to attend some games and sell the others to cushion the hit. I remember going to some games with gbear and Techboy that way.

In any case, I don't know if we have a formal feature, channel, or thread like that on BGO, but it might be one I'd be interested in taking advantage of again next year.

I do think it would be useful to prohibit major price gouging though I suppose a small profit wouldn't be too rotten to bear.

Anyone else?

That was true the vast majority of the time, but one has to keep his eyes and ears open - and be wary. I remember one noob who bought some decent seats for a decent price from an ES member, and then promptly put them up on eBay or some site so that he could profit from it at the expense of the ES member. Really pissed me off and I publicly called him out on it. He was caught red handed and properly humiliated and kind of, somewhat apologized. I don't think we saw him again. Moral: Beware of noobs! :p

That is scummy.

I will admit I only bought tickets from board members whose names I recognized. I didn't know if I could trust lurkers or flyby posters. Each of my experiences wound up positive.

But buyer beware is always a good rule to follow.

Unregistered lurkers will be able to see the Classifieds page but not interact with it. And yeah, if it's a brand new member I would be cautious.

I used to use the classified on ES all the time to buy and sell tickets, I was a season ticket holder.

I agree with above. When demand for tickets disappeared, the whole point went away and the page died.

Adding the classified section is a great idea, thanks!

Just a reminder that we DO now have a 'Classifieds' feature where folks can buy/sell/trade/request items. We built this at member request and it's not getting a lot of use.

Funny story about the ES Classifieds:

Dude put up a '78 signed/authenticated/sealed Joe Theismann card for $20 way back years ago...I snagged it. It was right around my birthday/Valentines Day.
Came home so excited, screaming to my husband "Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I love you!!!"

He was looking at me like I had 18 heads. "What did I do???"
Me: I love my present!!!
Him: What did I get you??? (I think his throat gulped)
Me: Showed him the card, with kisses and hugs...love you, love you....(his throat definitely gulped)

Him: And just what did this cost me???

When I told him, he was blown away.
There are deals to be had.
