Another tidbit I realized tonight as I was mulling all this over. By the time the team plays in the new stadium, they will have been in Landover for almost as long as they were at the original RFK.

So 2030 would be, God willing, Jayden's 7th year at that point. So hopefully we'll get to see him in the new digs for several more years at that point.

I have a feeling they’re going to make all the right decisions for the stadium. I asked for the Camden Yards of the NFL and I feel like we’re going to get it.

With getting the win and getting the stadium deal this week, we have so much to feel good about right now with our team and the organization.

…It feels so good to be GOOD again.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful or demanding, but why 5 years?

Upcoming Bills stadium - 3 years from breaking ground
Vikings stadium - 2.5 years from breaking ground
Raiders stadium - less than 3 years from breaking ground
Upcoming Titans stadium - ~3 years from breaking ground

Are we truly 2 years from breaking ground, if it takes 3 years from that point?
Is it still another 2 years until the site is cleared?
Another 2 years until plans are ready?

(Full disclosure: I am NOT in the stadium building business, so I more than likely have no idea what I am talking about)

As a construction manager for over 20 yrs 5 yrs is a valid timeline especially since the last ive read they havnt even sellected a design firm yet. Design will take minimum a yr but closer to 1.5 yrs. clearing the old stadium is probably 6months to a yr to remove all the material especially as we get into winter where producivity slows.

I just want to say, after watching yesterday's game...with all of that natural light that pours into that place? That's what I'd love to see in D.C. if they do indeed go the domed route as many have speculated...it looked fantatsic!

Agree. That was a beautiful stadium. And Josh Harris has, I believe, confirmed a grass field. Which I think means, that we can expect something thematically similar.

I really want that under-ground greenhouse thing they have at the Real Madrid soccer stadium + a translucent roof. That thing is cool, because they can store the grass field and have other options (concrete, maybe even field turf?) for other events.

That looks awesome. And with the controlled growth conditions, we could have a perfect grass field all winter.

I wonder how much it would cost to turn the field over for each game.

I also wonder about weird seams between the grass panels affecting footing/injuries.

I can't imagine the seems being a problem given that they play the highest level of professional soccer on the field. And while those guys aren't as big, they are super fast and plant and cut on one leg while kicking. I would imagine that's been worked out.

I just want it. And since it's not my money, eh, I'm good with Harris spending his money on it.

While that is pretty awesome, I can’t imagine what the costs associated with something like that would be. If the HOG want to spend it I’m all for it. You can see how it could be very useful for a year round stadium.
