We don't do politics here. The stadium search has political components to it, and it's important for members to be able to talk about it here. If I can tell your political leanings by your posts, you're screwing it up.

It's one of the few things we have no patience for here. That goes for owners, staff, members, everyone. No intent to pick on you Schmo - I'm just pointing out where the lines are.
 
That was unexpected!!! But I’ll take it. Harris and Rales must have really worked it to make this happen. It’s like since Snyder left unexpectedly good shit just goes right for the team. It really feels like a curse has been lifted.
 
I wonder if they will literally re-build RFK, same shape, look as before but completely modernized. I doubt it - because I think they will want a retractable roof which would require a very specific design - but I have wondered how far down the 'nostalgia' path they might go?
 
I have heard they would like to recreate the ability for a section of the stadium to bounce like the temporary roll out seats used for football at RFK did. Imagine this is going to be amazing. We seem to be on a roll.
 
That’s what I get for going to bed early (thanks, Covid). Just what everyone expected, a Hail Mary in the middle of the night. If you thought that was going to happen, I would appreciate the winning Powerball numbers.

This is not political at all…Musk threw a wrench into the mix by inaccurately portraying the scope of the bill. There was never stadium funding included and he exposed the fact that he didn’t know the details.
 
I didn't understand in reading all of this why everything kept saying that the Senate passed the bill and now it was headed to Biden to sign. I thought there was going to have to be a new bill introduced, but apparently, the Senate passed a bill that the house had already passed last February to allow DC to regain control of the site. It was an old bill that the Senate signed. I'm really curious what assurances the Maryland senators were given.

What a relief. We can put this behind us and get back to being excited for the future.

Also, it's wonderful to think of Dan Snyder seeing this bill pass.
 
Good shit after how everything ended up the last few days and then this got passed.
 
Maryland did receive the full federal funding for the Key Bridge rebuild in the CR. Maryland did not receive the Air National Guard squadron that they wanted.

 
What do you guys think the timeline is for the public to get to see renders of the stadium, etc. Do you guys think they've already had architects working on this? They's had 2 years to do that. If they want it in quickly, I hope that was going on in the background.
 
Harris is so smart. That's a 'leverage' communication. He's letting the DC government/decision-makers know this is not a done deal and that if they want Washington to build their stadium at the RFK site, they will have to do everything in their power to make a deal financially viable without ridiculous stipulations or concessions required.
 
Not sure about drawings. This group strikes as probably building completely different stadiums depending on the site. They probably know the parameters of what they want but the design will change depending on the site chosen.

I wouldn't think so. I think they want something that will attract premium events like a DC Superbowl or Probowl? Maybe a draft event? So, they'll want at least a roof, I'd think.
 
I would think at the stage they are looking at specific stadium build, they would have multiple architects making proposals and submissions. I would not be surprised if they haven't already had that in progress. The ultimate location would impact that, but generally they'd probably give them size parameters and tell them to have at it.
 
And he used the term "equal playing field". I like that, so...extra point is GOOOOOOOOOD!!!
