The Jayden Daniels Tracker

I wish they had just shut up about the VR system from the get go
I had the same thought, BD. That should have been guarded as well or better than the game plan.

The team should buy the VR company to keep it from others like the caps bought a Analytics company to take away access to them for other teams

Or add some subliminal programming that makes opposing QBs to our defensive backs.

While I also wish it was a secret, now that we have him, every team in the league learned about the VR system at minimum during the scouting process. Also, I'm willing to bet that Jayden can process it better and translate what he learns from it more than other younger qbs.

and while i agree a lot of coaches are attempting to get edges, i dont think this would have been some state secret to the other coaches. Even if it didnt get talked about THIS year, chances are we're not going to keep this entire coaching staff together for eternity. Eventually Pritchart is going to get a job elsewhere, as well as Kingsbury and most of the other offensive assistants, and they'll start using it. Then their assistants will talk about it. Additionally, if you don't think the VR company isn't working on how to market this to all teams and using Jayden Daniels as a case study, i've got some beachfront property in Iowa i'd love to sell you. They're likely talking to Agents, NCAA and NFL coaches... all levels of competitive football.

If you don’t follow jay gruden on twitter you’re missing out. Another smart guy suffocated by the aurora of Snyder. And he’s hilarios, definition of the guy that would be a blast to go out drinking with.

I like some of Gruden's videos, but he really needs to work on his production quality. :)

Yeah it’s terrible but it’s part of his charm I suppose 😆

i like Jay well enough. Might drink a beer with him and tell some lies. I just don't really want him head coaching my favorite professional football team.

Will update this tread with vids/stats appropriately as we go. Right now I'm out of pocket as far as a viable computer since I'm on the road for the next couple weeks. In this JD tracking thing for the long haul--right now I'm thinking for the next 12-15 years. :)

What do you mean? I am sure they are Commanders fans and planned this for years. Getting him going in college... getting him to the Commanders. All according to plan. Why ruin it by selling it to other teams? That doesn't make sense.

I don't know about all that, man! As I recall, he was probably at a bar when he wrote this (below), and he had some other reported beer-related stuff as coach. Pass for me on listening to him and drinking with him, I think.

i don’t hold it against people that failed here. It was a totally dysfunctional organization. I don’t even blame Jim Zorn, he was totally set up to fail. But I’ve listened to Jay a lot in the last few years - I think he has a high football iq.

But more importantly he says some funny shit on twitter. And that’s why he’s worth following. He does a segment on Sheehan’s podcast and I enjoy it. He cracks me up and I’m positive he’d fun to hang at a bar with. :)

Here’s one as Cousins blowout primetime game was ending earlier this season as an example 😂

(Done with the gruden talk, just wanted to share that, and his video of Jayden earlier)

Chase Daniel with some good "nerdy, in the weeds" type breakdowns of Jayden's play, and Kilff's playcalling from the Bears game:

lololol Love for Jayden. And even guys like Hurts and Darnold, but not their own QB. Even if you don't actually believe it, you'd think they'd just include Dak 'cause he's their teammate.

Gotta appreciate all the Dallas media. JJ and the players just put it all out there.

I think this is a great point. It's just a tool. I'm sure extra reps would benefit every QB. But I think JD has innate off-the-chart talent, personal drive and motivation, and an incredible work ethic. VR isn't going to fix someone's mechanics, make an inaccurate passer accurate, or a slow processing QB lightning fast.

I think there is a clear division on the Cowboys between offense and defense.

The defense I think feels that with all the injuries they have done enough early to keep Dallas in these games but Prescott and the turnovers on offense have killed the team's prospects.

When you have a $60M quarterback, teammates expect that player to elevate his game as Mahomes does to overcome challenges elsewhere on the roster.

Dak is showing he is not that type of player. He's good when everything else is going well.

But he does not LEAD his team to wins with his own unique abilities and talents.

Some people won’t care. Some of pay attention. I was wondering when he’d get this part.

Glad to see him out supporting other local teams. Dude so far is an A+ all the way around.
