This is what i was saying all along. Quinn failed at the the most important task for a HC... hiring the right OC and DC. I honestly don't get why they keep him. Clean house and start over.. Quinn already massively failed once.... you really trust him to make the right choices this time?! ridiculous!

You keep him because he's one season removed from having the best season in three decades for this team, this season he led the league in injuries. Harris would look like Dan Snyder on steroids if he fired him.

I am uncertain about Quinn going forward but I'd give him a chance to bounce back.

Gotcha SIP, I don't doubt the bond between JD5 and Kliff. I just wish the media would stop expecting these players to say something off the wall or highly critical of their HC or coordinator. It's certainly not how JD5 would roll, even if he did have problems with Kliff.

And Quinn is clearly willing to make changes to try to do better. He knows that his career is linked to JD's success. JD injured is no good for Quinns future. He is going to hire who he needs to to keep his franchise QB upright.

It will be interesting to see the "reports" in the aftermath of this, what was said, the reason behind it, what was discussed, etc.

Yeah I gert the vibe that there is a twist to this and that twist is Kliff wanted out too and knew he had another job lined up.

Look at how pathetic KC looks without Mahomes. They look like the worst team in the NFL and KC isn't missing a zillion players like Washington.

So the idea from some fans and maybe the coaches is suck it up Kliff, we expect better than you with Mariota throwing to Chris Moore -- yeah 21st in offense isn't terrible but hey we pay you big bucks, figure out. If I am Kliff i'd think screw you, I'll show you withy a FO who actually cares about giving my QB a supporting cast.

I think Quinn's intentions are always good. But I am at 50-50 that he can botch this.

I don't love the shakeout from a Jayden perspective. I get some think who gives a damn what he thinks. But coming from me who already made the case that if I were Jayden I'd question if the right team drafted me and whether Peters has my back -- doing this adds to that theme big time.

I am open to the next coordinator being better. I'll see it play out. But I am not in the camp thinking of course Quinn will get it right.

The best season reliant on luck, easy schedule, lack of tape on the team, etc. So if you give him a pass on this season, then you have to admit that last season was a huge anomaly. Many of the off season moves are the reason that this team was so bad this year, beyond injuries. The D, his specialty, has now been bad for 2 years. But even if you give him an A for 24 and an F for 25.. he is at best a C level coach. I can almost guarantee he is gone after next season... they are just prolonging the inevitable. Sadly, I will be proven 100% right that he was a Ron 2.0 hire.

For what its worth, and I know some say its worth nothing, Keim among others said Jayden and Kliff are close and that's not just a public posturing thing, its real.

I get the whole who gives a rats ass what Jayden thinks. But IMHO this isn't a FO that's on a roll as to helping Jayden -- I give them a D at best as to being good for Jayden. So the idea of lets trust them this time. I'll ride with it. But if I were Jayden I'd be skpetical.

And if Kingsbury is interviewing next week with New York, or Tennessee, and ultimately takes that job, does it change anything? If he's already planning on leaving, holding does nothing but hinder the process of moving on. Having Kingsbury linger into the scouting period leading up to Free Agency and the Draft, you can't afford to dilly dally. They need to have their direction established so you know what you're looking for.

If the rumors are true, that he was going to again get HC opportunities, entering the final year of his deal.... if there was a meeting and he flat out told them 'If I get a chance to be a HC i'm taking it' then they had to rip the bandaid. Not that Kliff necessarily WANTED out, but he was going to be aspiring to be the main guy again somewhere.

There's a lot of back and forth like this is some unceremonious separation, but the terminology, at this point, of the reporting doesnt scream that. Yea it could be coach speak to say 'mutually parting ways' but that's a very intentional way to put it.

We likely weren't as 'good' as an NFC Championship team, we played well over our heads.
We likely aren't as 'bad' as we were this year either, played well below our ability if we take all things into account like injuries and bad bounces.

what's the old saying? You're never really as good as your best, or as bad as your worst?

That's your feeling that's cool.

I love Jayden. I think an elite QB drives EVERY team. It's not unique to this team.

But still you don't dismiss a HC who had an historic season for a franchise after one season where they lead the league in injuries. If I recall Jayden is 2-5 so by the same logic if he takes 100% of the credit he deserves 100% of the blame too for his record.

Yeah, and it's one of the reasons I speculated a couple weeks back that the Russini tweets were a plant by Kliff's camp. I can understand why he'd be utterly frustrated with DQ. I'm not a Kliff partisan, but I'd imagine he maybe didn't want to book another ticket on the SS Quinn, heading straight towards an iceberg. But of course DQ would reply that we didn't hit an iceberg, we have ice in our veins, or something similarly ridiculous.
