But you can cheer me on as I enjoy home field advantage in the playoffs. We may not make it to the Championship game like you did last year, but I like our trajectory.

I would have liked to be doing so well in Washington...but John Schneider was such a wonderful host. The ownership in Washington were less than welcoming.

They must have a plan they want to execute quickly and fear they'll lose out to somebody faster.
Crazy to fire your coach a couple hours after his last game otherwise.

Idk, these things leak all the time right as the regular season ends. Not often we actually get to black Monday not knowing whose gone already

That's true, it's not uncommon to get one report overnight but this one seems especially early.
Might just be the constant competition to be first in line speeding up the process every year.

Likely true, the earlier it’s made official the earlier you can be on the phone with agents setting up interviews without offending anyone

Raheem is a decent DC, not a great HC, is a players coach as he had a lot of his star players speaking up for him publicly stating they want him back for a 3rd year. They went a disappointing 8-9.

That gives him a lot of similarity to DQ plus the two are friends. I could have seen some GMs can DQ but surge in injuries probably saves that. I could see DQ lean towards Morris as a possible DC. I'd rather they go a different way

Looking up Raheem Morris' DC stats - I am surprised at how unimpressive they are. Of course, players available play a big part of a coaches success, but there is nothing that jumps out in Morris' numbers over his 4 seasons as an NFL DC that screams 'hire me!'. His defenses were good against the run, but ugh - look at those pass D rankings.

I am super anxious to hear that Whitt was let go.

I don't think it looks good if DQ keeps him on the staff.

That first year you see is DQ’s final “year” in ATL that saw him get fired after an 0-5 start. Hope DQ remembers that Raheem’s defense certainly didn’t help him then

My only concern with ulbrich is the special defenses he coordinated were all under saleh.

Did he call defensive plays for the jets?

Morris only became a hot name after his success in LA under McVay. McVay set up the structure and provided the leadership and steering for the team while Raheem did what he was good at - showing respect for veterans like Aaron Donald and making them feel bought in while bringing along younger player by pumping them up and showing them he believes in them.

And when any discipline was needed it was McVay that had to step in and provide it.

Ulbricht had a LOT of talent on the Jets defense the past several years. I don't know how much you can draw from that in projecting him to Washington and our situation on that side of the ball.
