The HC Dan Quinn Discussion Thread

Russini’s reporting is no surprise in the least bit. The tea leaves have been forming the past few weeks.

If Stefanski is foolishly let go in Cleveland, I would love for both him and Schwartz to come here. The downside is that I don’t think the league faults him much for the Cleveland situation. If he doesn’t get a gig this cycle, he’s going to get one soon so it could be a one and done situation here.

Daboll would be interesting too. I think it’ll be a while before he gets a HC shot again, maybe never, after the run with the Giants. He was the WR coach in NE for a number of years while AP was a scout there. If some of the friction with KK is over how he protected Jayden, Daboll doesn’t have a great recent track record. He basically got himself fired early given how he seemingly didn’t care much for Dart’s health

Then how did we ever age almost 400 yards per game in the playoffs last year?

But you're probably right, it was scheme and not injuries up and down the roster.
I almost forgot how good of a HC he was in Arizona and why they didn't renegotiate his contract for more money and years. See it as you will. You are on the KK train and that's cool. I'm not.

The Russini report is interesting, but it’s also vague enough that it’s really hard to read the tea leaves. “Some in the building” and “a disconnect” can mean a lot of things, and without specifics it’s tough to know what to make of it. I could speculate — maybe disagreement over how conservative the offense was or whether Jayden was protected enough in the playcalling — but that wouldn’t really be an educated guess.

What I’m more curious about is who has an incentive for this to get out there. I don’t immediately see why this would be in Peters’, Quinn’s, or Kliff’s interest. You can make an argument that Peters or Kliff might benefit in some narrow way, but it could just as easily be coming from other people in the organization with their own stakes in how the offseason shakes out.

Personally, I’m generally a Kliff fan, so this reads as bad news to me. But given how nonspecific the reporting is, I’m not sure there’s enough here yet to draw any real conclusions.

Stefanski seems like a hot candidate for NY from different things I've read

Kliff started commissioning those "I have HC interest elsewhere" tweets a few weeks ago, starting with Russini, the usual outlet. Maybe the writing was on the wall, and he was getting that out there as a preemptive way to save face. I do know that Lynn has been unhappy with all the RB rotation. I'm sure there's more. You'll notice that the details of his contract/arrangement with us have never been revealed. It'd be an easy separation, AZ is still paying him.

I think JD5 will be fine learning a new offense. He's smart, he studies, he works hard......if anyone can still succeed in such a new or recalibrated context, it's him. Kliff's offense is sustainable neither in terms of consistent success nor for the longevity of a QB. DQ can't afford that. He tied his fate, in part, to Whitt. Mistake. Perhaps he's realized he cannot with Kliff, either.

If anything goes down in Miami, I want Jon Embree back in Ashburn to work with our TEs.

You completely avoided the question.

Spot on!

Pretty sure this guy posts here... 🤣

Yes, we did. I am not disagreeing with you, thus I didn't respond and if you read my prior post, I give a long-term reason on why I, personally would like to move on from KK.

Yep, and how many seasons has KK had to prove himself in the NFL? Now, please answer my question. Why did Arizona fire KK if he was all that and a bag of chips?

We? Do you have more than one person going on there? And by previous post did you mean the word salad that was based on nothing factual? You're going to have to clarify which one that is, though, they're all pretty much the same.

Typo, my bad. Do you want to have a civil disagreement on this forum or what? I was specifying team. Is that ok?

Riggo44 Tell you what. Let me message you my phone number and we can discuss it over the phone. Want to take it to another level in true sportsmanship.

DM'd you

I'm not sure he's let go, from what I've read. But then again, Cleveland is a dumpster fire organization

I try to post civil and respectful messages on this forum to everyone. I've known some of you for a long time and some a short time. This is supposed to be a board that we can share our thoughts and ideas and agree or disagree on all subjects. My intentions are not to offend but to have legit conversations. If I have angered someone or many, that's not the goal. My apologies.

Philly fired both coordinators and won a Super Bowl a year later.

Things change quickly in the NFL.

I for one relish seeing Peters have a top pick in a non-qb year and the opportunity to move on from a lot of aging veterans and build the kind of younger, faster more athletic team a lot of us envisioned back in 2024.

The funny thing is, if you look at their stats--especially in the passing game--the reason they won was Fangio and Barkley. Their passing game was mediocre last year, and awful this year.

I seem to be the only one who's not down on Brian Johnson...

Don't do that. We can't follow along if you do.
I did and apologized for it. I wouldn't have been a jerk but discussed it maturely. I am a better speaker than typer as most of us probably are. I get what you're saying and I get intense at times were explaining via typing isn't as easy at speaking it. Make it easy for us older fans with a speak feature. LOL
