Griffin was never coddled/protected from himself by Gruden, like Gruden coddled/protected Cousins early in the first half of the season.

And even if it does take Griffin 3yrs to learn the pocket game, he'll only be 27. I still hope somehow it happens here. I'd like to see all 3 QB's back next year. Unless they want to replace Colt with a young recruit. Play dictating the starter.

Griffin, going anywhere else and being successful, will count as a monumental failure by the organization. With Gruden shouldering a lot of the blame.
And, total failure by Griffin, on another team, will be complete vindication for Gruden.

seriously? Gruden won't be shouldering any blame. Good grief man, Robert was his own worst enemy, he couldn't play the game from under center. Anyways, there's only one thing left for me to know about Robert Griffin. Why is he making road trips while inactive? Oh, I guess we can blame Gruden for that.

he was given a very fair chance. If anything I do believe he has been helped by his time on the bench he has been asking questions in the film room and being one of the last ones to leave the facility. There had been a few reports that he really didn't take film study serous before this season

I think Gruden is starting to get the idea of "in game change" finally. I think he has a long ways to go to fully be one of those who can see it and change it on the fly so that it works but that comes with time and talent on the field.

we need to get this running game fixed. I am fully aware and sad by it, but Morris has issues. I am hoping its going to be workable during the playoffs, but between his lack of burst/power and Jones fumbling we have an issue back there. Teams are going to adjust to that. There is no reason we shouldn't be running well now. Reed, and 3 WRs now command attention because the QB is getting the ball there...we need to figure out if the line is blocking poorly, the backs are not hitting the right ones/hard enough...or both.

I dont believe it will be resolved this year, but my hope is that next year we dont face the same lackluster running attack.

Are we really discussing this, again? I mean seriously...if you cannot see that RG3 needs about 3 more seasons on the bench learning a good system like the one Andy Reid runs, that would cater to his talents as a mobile QB without sending him running at the first hint of pressure, then you're not really looking.

I figured you needed to grind your RGIII axe a bit, since it had gotten dull the last few days...

I said that RGIII needed more development than Cousins, because Cousins had a pro-style offense in college. That development was cut due to injuries and a new coach unwilling to work with him through the injuries. Kirk Cousins was benched twice in his career, largely because he was unable to read defenses and was throwing picks.

I honestly don't think there was anything wrong with what I said... However, I'm sure you'll interpret everything I said as a 100% fabrication.

I discounted the play, because I saw it differently. Henry saw it more like you did, and I said I'd look at it again. You have to admit that it was a bit clown show in the Dallas secondary the whole night. I've said quite a few good things about Cousins, but I haven't changed my mind completely about him yet. I still see a lot of Foles 2013 in Cousins. Maybe he'll prove me wrong next year, but I hope we have Desean Jackson to help him have similar numbers.

Griffen is the one that couldn't read defenses. Kirks problem is he would try to get 30 yards when no play was there verses living to fight another down. Almost every offensive player on the team went up to Gruden after the first preseason game and asked him to switch QB. When Griffen went down in the second game he was confronted again.
Colt was cleared by the medical staff to play in that Giants game last year

1) Kirk Cousins was in the history books as having one of the worst INT% in the game up until week 5-6 this season. You don't get that by being great at reading defenses.

2) You aren't seriously going to pull the medical staff card, are you? We all were around at the end of 2012...

3) So, almost every offensive player went up to Jay Gruden after the preseason of 2014? This was RGIII's 1st full and healthy NFL offseason. It was also a brand new offense. We must have the stupidest players on the planet. When you hear stuff like this, you start to think that maybe Snyder is the smart one and the one that isn't so prone to make hasty, franchise damaging decisions. So... we're supposed to be patient when a coach goes 4-12 in his 1st year, but we immediately turn on a young player when he is learning a new offense and has a bad offseason?

Gruden came in and evaluated the QB's and made his decision on who was best for his offense. To date he's proven 100% correct. The rest of it is just noise at this point. RG will move on and succeed or not. It has no bearing on the team any longer so I don't understand the need to rehash it. Opinions are set in stone on this issue and will never change. Time to let the past be the past and move forward. I'm sure if Kirk Falters or RG goes on to greatness we'll be rehashing it ad-nauseum at that point. I'll just sit back and enjoy the team for now.

here is the thing I don't get:

Cousins isn't Griffin. Cousins hasn't been treated like Griffin. Griffin is actually gone from the team.

What does it matter? If Gruden does this again we can go "A-Ha! He has a pattern of this and it is obviously his problem!". But as of now we are winning, we won the division, 4 in a row, 3 on the road, 2 against division rivals, and are hosting a playoff game this weekend!!

I never cared if our QB was going to be RG3 or Cousins. I just wanted someone to step up and be that guy. I have no control or knowledge of what goes on behind closed doors at Redskins Park. As a fan, I can only judge by what is on the field each week.

Now, I am happy Cousins has stepped up and grabbed the reins. His fellow teammates have rallied around him. I hope he gets paid and plays well for us for a long time.

If RG3 does move on I wish him well, except when facing my Redskins.

I've been a Redskins fan for a long damn time. I've seen guys come and go. The one thing constant is the jerseys. There will always be different players wearing them. With FA there is a bigger turnover than years ago. So, I am saying I am a fan of the Redskins and supports whoever wears the jerseys.

This kid will only succeed when/if he's mature enough to let someone take 3 years on him. That means he has to ride the bench because he's proven all he can do is run an offensive scheme that is now antiquated. And the idea he can learn is still...unknown.

If what I hear is true and he is now studying film of defenses and asking questions goes to say he might have learned and is willing. Of course even if he goes somewhere and has success they won't look at that. It was said in 2013 and2014 he never looked at film and he was lost under center look at his eyes they tell the whole story he looked lost and confused

Injuries have been a huge limiter in his development. He needs to go to a team that doesn't need a starter in the short term, with an established HC that has time to develop him. He's still young so hopefully he doesn't let impatience to start cause him to chose the wrong team. I'd expect he'll have a few teams interested.

Over the last 4 weeks of the season, Kirk Cousins was Accurate on 73.3% of his passes over 20 yards, 2nd was Eli Manning at 57.1%
