I'm not fan, but if I could answer that question: Yes.

The game prior to his concussion, RG3 showed improvement. Had Garcon caught that ball, everyone would have said he's really improved.

Next game, Gruden starts a left tackle who is no longer on the team. And, a rookie at right guard who struggled all camp, and Moses, a guy who won't part any seas. Not to mention the horrific play calling by Gruden, RG3 ends up being a statue who gets pummeled by a relentless rush.

But, Gruden was never going to let him be the starter at the beginning of the season, was he?

The guys is still the best qb on the roster.

2. Who would you have played at RG and RT?

3. Do you realize that Gruden isn't calling the plays?

One of the most entertaining myths around here is people constantly repeating that "none of the QBs have shown any improvement. No unit has improved."

Now most admit that RG3 improved, and that Kirk also appears to have improved.

So I'm guessing we won't see that claim made again?

If your starting O line is that devastated and you're going to be playing arguably the best D in the league then it would be prudent to maybe not even play Griffin at all (preseason and all) or when it's evident he's not being protected pull him after one series, not throw him back in to the wolves for 2 more.

Again reading is fundamental. The claim has been made that nothing improved across the board in year one. He brings in a QB coach in year TWO who is actually coaching the QB and it's improving. You're right though Gruden is a GENIUS!

Could be one, both ... neither. We could argue all day about that (again). But let's not.

What he or any coach in big-time sports today say for cameras and media and fans like us to obsess and pontificate endlessly over means squat. Didn't we all learn that years ago?

The ONLY thing I care about is what he says behind closed doors to his team, and how they react to it. To date, every indication we have heard is that he has their support.

Of course, I guess THEY could be bullshitting ...

I don't agree that all it means is squat. Joe Gibbs didn't need to bullshit the press, he just didn't tell em anything. I don't respect lying as a strategically sound ploy. It hurts credibility and can lead to other distraction for the team in the future say when someone "allegedly" gets a concussion. Bullshitting is bush league, I'd rather he go Belichick and refuse to talk at all than bullshit everyone.

You're categorically stating he was "lying" about anything. You don't know that. You look at what he said earlier, and because what he says later doesn't jibe with it, you're discounting the possibility that the information at his disposal in the interim changed.

What IS interesting to me is cogitating about how Gibbs 1.0, in his rookie year to boot, might have dealt with today's circus atmosphere surrounding the NFL, where every breath, word, expression, tone of voice, play call, etc., is instantly parsed, analyzed, and wrapped up as neat little packages of Truth by EVERYONE with an inclination and internet connection.

As to Belichick ... perhaps we should read some of what was being said after his rookie year with the Browns ... or first year with the Patriots ... you know, before he became a genius.

Let's face it, we're all expressing opinions based on whatever we've heard. We do know that actions haven't jibed with spoken word. I can give you literally dozens of examples, but you're right, why dwell on the lies.
