The Glitch, Bug, and Feedback Thread

Tapatalk is really limited to just a few types of phones. I gave up on the idea of trying to access this forum via mobile a long time ago. It's just not worth the time and headaches.
 
Have you tried the mobile skin? It's not perfect, but seriously, it's free and it's pretty functional. If you open the '...' icon, you have access to most functions. I've been going back and forth between the mobile skin and Tapatalk. I prefer Tapatalk, but the mobile skin works fine. Just my experience. Tapatalk has apps for the iphone, ipad, droid, windows phone, and blackberries.
 
I don't know what you mean by '...', but trying to get to the site now via my phone - going on three minutes now.
 
Nope, it won't load. For whatever reason, the other place loads instantly - and it did the same thing with their vBulletin software as well. A few months ago, they loaded instantly. Here, I simply can't get it to load.
 
Mike and BB...what phones are you using?
 
Hey guys love the new site. Just a couple of observations no need to reply know you guys are hard at it.

I came in here looking to see if it was on my end or if there was a speed issue on PC...using Win7 and chrome. There's a page load delay on my end I see you commenting about speed so I'll assume its a known issue.

I'm using tapatalk on my samsung galaxy 3 with jelly bean OS. And a Samsung Note 10.1 tablet with the latest updates. Tapatalk connects sometimes but at other times it won't. Its also slow when it does connect. The new beta version of tapatalk doesn't seem to work at all with the site.

Keep up the good work!

Edit: May I also suggest that a thread like this stay on topic... weeding through incidental comments to find out if there are real issues at play or not seems a little unnecessary. :2cents:
 
Yes - we're working on the load speeds, hopeful that will improve. Stay tuned on that. On Tapatalk, first I've heard of issue there. I have both Tapatalk 1 and 2 on my iPhone and no real issue (other than load speed, which again is being worked on). Not sure what to suggest on the Tapatalk - maybe it'll resolve when we address the slow page loads. Appreciate everyone's patience while we work through that. We do have the mobile skin option as well if Tapatalk is not working well...

Tapatalk 4 beta is now working. I Dunno what the prob was but it seems to have passed.

Mike - as far as I can tell you and BB are the only ones having an issue with the mobile skin - what kind of phones are you using? It's not the skin itself - its working great for most of us.
 
Mike - is this on a PC/laptop or via your phone?
 
Hey, guys....just getting up an back on the site more lately. Love the new look overall, but haven't yet quite gotten it worked out where I should be and how to navigate most easily. I'm sure that'll come with time, so no worries.

Still, when I hit the "home" button.....I get this:

I don't remember having any issues getting into anything before.....is this an error? Do I need to pay something? Hmmm.....

Oh, and what do you recommend most for viewing on an iPhone? I haven't seen a particular app to download....and I've never really understood this whole "skin" concept.

Some things I've noticed......not big issues, more just bothersome preference quirks. Whenever I go to reply to a thread, the only option available is the quick reply. The reply tab is there, it just shuttles me down to the quick reply area, which I hate. When I try to uplaod a pic now, I have to make it tiny as all hell, because if I don't, it tells me I have exceeded the amount of allotted usage. This has happened on all photos, even 4"x4" ones. Then when I go into my account to see if I can delete some older photos I posted, it appears I have never posted any, even though that's obviously not correct. Lastly, I love most of the changes to the arcade, but I really dislike the way the games are arranged. To put it lightly, it's a cluster****. I'd much rather see the old list style sorting we used to have. This current setup looks like everything was just jumbled to gether with too much text, too many pics, etc. It's a headache to navigate it, not visually friendly at all.

RE: the reply window - you can actually drag it to make it bigger. Not sure if that's your issue with it (that was my issue with it - I hated when the quote was bigger than the window), but that's an easy fix. And the site remembers your preference, so you don't have to do it every time.
 
Hey Boone, the load times are very varying lately. Seems like some nights, I can click right through, and other times it takes forever. I'm sure ya'll are working on it, but I figured I'd add my two cents.

Guys - if you are getting THIS message, you need to clear your browser cache (how you do that depends on the browser but basically you are deleting all temporary files). Your browser is trying to take you to a page that doesn't exist anymore (ie..the old site). At least that's what I believe is happening. Clear your browser cache and you should see the 'Home Page' when you visit BGObsession.com - The Front Page.

I'm seeing the same thing on the 'Quick Reply' button - let me check on that, probably just a setting issue. Ditto on image upload size, we can probably tweak that - we'll check. On the Arcade - it's a totally different Arcade software. I know what you are saying - I liked the layout of the previous Arcade better too. But the guy who create that modification let it go to hell and it was not compatible with this version of vBulletin. I'm actually thrilled because I was able to find a conversion program that converted all our our existing games over to another Arcade mod. In fact, the games run much better (I haven't run into one where the high score isn't recorded for example) than on the old modification. There may be some tweaking we can do - I haven't spent much time 'customizing' it because it's not a high priority. You DO know that games are classified by category (although with over 500 games, I just tried to dump them in the category that, at a glance, felt right, so there's probably some mis-tagged games in some categories). You can click a category and see just the games in that category (although you have to look closely to see the category options.

I know what you mean - if we can improve it, I'm all about that - but you're talking about recoding a modification that we didn't build. Not as easy as it sounds. If you want to give me some really concrete suggestions, I'm happy to look into it.
