The Dessert Thread

Tough crowd...

Here's a cherry pie made from scratch by my daughter. Cherries picked fresh off the cherry tree at Larriland Farms and frozen for later use. Note the decorations in the middle. She is a pie baking expert.

Love cherry pie and that one looks awesome! On your 'Limoncello' pie - you can make limoncello at home and it comes out fantastic, basically a mix of good vodka, lots and lots of fresh lemon zest, and sugar. Takes several weeks for all of the lemon flavor to be leached out and then strained. It really is good, so I'm sure that pie was.

I went to a BBQ place and had something I hadn't seen before. They had it listed as an appetizer but it could be a side dish, breakfast or a dessert so was not sure what thread to put it in.

Any ways, I had Corn nuts. I had no idea what the were but decided not to ask, I just ordered them to let them surprise me.

They weren't what I expected, they were deep fried corn bread donuts, slightly sweet batter and they were delicious. They were that deep corn bread color, slightly hard or crisp on the outside warmed on the inside about medium sizes as donuts go.

I'd never heard of them and found them a nice surprise. I had one left and took it home for breakfast the next morning

Never heard of anything like that but sounds interesting...

I wish I or my wife baked pies but unfortunately, we don't. So jealous of all your pies.

The closest I can come to your pies is a place in Leesburg called Mom's Apple Pies. They are so good but too expensive at $30 each.

Blueberry and cherry pie for me. A warm cherry cobbler is tough to beat.

My favorite BBQ place here has an appetizer called a Cornbread Waffle...I haven't de-constructed what's in the sauce/syrup yet, but damn. It's
super good.
