According to an article in today's Washington Post when Congressmen asked where Snyder claimed residence he answered England. I had no idea that Snyder was a Brit.

My guess is he was trying to imply since he has incorporated some business and/or has some property in another country it was another reason Congress had no jurisdiction over him. If so, it's a pretty dumb ploy. The Redskins are not a British company and are subject to US laws. More ridiculous is Snyder grew up in Montgomery County, MD has a primary residence in Maryland and a secondary one in Virginia. I did learn his father had dual citizenship though. So 🤷

I doubt this is a 'legal' ploy to escape culpability from any kind of criminal charges. Snyder has an army of lawyers at his disposal, and they would no doubt provide clarity on that kind of thing. He is a pariah. He used to just be a pariah to Washington fans. But with everything that's transpired over the past several years, he is a national pariah.

Guessing this is about removing himself from the social frying pan and seeking to find somewhere to call home where he isn't despised, pilloried, and demonized.

Thought it might be possible that Snyder would be too petty to sell to Bexos. Snyder probably thinks the reason the fans turned on him was Bezos telling the Washington Post to go after him

Yeah i was talking to my Father In Law about this... If the highest bid is $6.3B and Bezos walks in with a check for $8B, Snyder is going to have a hard time turning that down...

I think the NFL might have something to say about it as well. It's likely they would love to have a guy with the kind of resources Bezos brings to the table in the fold. A new owner not only has to put up a huge amount of cash to purchase the team, but has to be able to pull off a stadium deal. Bezos could write the check for both without blinking an eye and I don't think any other potential owner could.

Doesn't mean it will happen. I don't think even Snyder could be that petty that he'd turn down additional millions out of spite. But possible Bezos decides it's not financially a good decision it it takes some ridiculous bid to get it done.

I'm still really hoping for Bezos though.

Anyone know if he was the owner during the Sixers “Trust the process” era? They had a lot of years of tanking in there. Most people wondered if there actually was a process because even with top picks, they were still tanking. That was the first thing I thought of when I read owner of the Sixers.

I would expect so, but he also pays that man’s salary. So he had to be on board with that and let it continue. However I looked at their GM history and they have been through more GMs in his tenure than Snyder was through coaches in his early tenure. Perhaps he didn’t put up with it. They are currently on a nice run, so at least it had produced results.

Honestly, we have no idea whether it’s this guy or Bezos or someone else how it will go. Could be great change or epic losing. Just no way to know. Obviously this guy, unlike Dan Snyder, is very bright, got a fantastic education, and has thrived in the business world. Only time will tell.

Just hope for a full sale. And that any change is a good change.
