The Bombshell

I think at this point there's a better than fifty percent chance that if Dan decides not to sell the team, the owners may vote him out. If that happens he will get a much worse deal.

Not saying it will happen, but saying it's very hard to close Pandora's box once opened.

I keep waiting (hoping) for another wave of sponsors to bail on Snyder. That's ultimately what drives things in the NFL ... as it did when Dan caved and ran on the name change. Maybe BGO should try to start a viral campaign to shame any remaining sponsors into action ...

I don’t trust Snyder. I don’t trust the other owners. I hope my misgivings are misplaced.

Hey, how is that M.J. White investigation that she was hired for this past February (FEBRUARY) going?

What’s that old saying? Hope in one hand…

I believe FedEx and SeatGeak are the two biggest, and I don't think either of them really care who they're in bed with, so no real hope there. Does anyone have access to a list of the other "main" sponsors?

Thought Fed Ex pulled out when the minority owner left?

Y’all trying to get me depressed before Christmas.

I will help everyone's downtrodden feelings. Here is a thesis on what is playing out:
1) The owners are upset at Snyder. Plenty of strong evidence that many owners are in fact upset and have kind of had it with Snyder.
2) Yes, some owners are loathe to publicly challenge Snyder. In fact, Goodell in this recent quote almost seems to support Snyder. Why, if not to give him an out to keep the team? Well, he HAS to continually tout the lax environment that NFL ownership WANTS. He is an employee of those owners, ultimately; the collective. They want to largely be left alone, and make oodles of money, but also to largely do what they want with their toys without overbearing scrutiny and/or too much negative publicity. The collective desires that, even if a few care less about those details. That is where there is some disconnect. Goodell's public commentary supports the idea that the NFL has the situation in-hand, and that the environment the NFL has is smooth and needs no rigorous oversight. Behind closed doors, there may be a different tune being sung, and there is evidence to suggest as much.
3) If these points are true, and there is plenty to suggest as much, then Snyder will also know the same thing others have stated; NOW is the high-point to sell the team.

I agree with everyone's distrust of Snyder. We have dealt with enough over 23+ years to understand that he isn't really above a lot, regardless of what Joe Gibbs or others say. There's just too much to suggest otherwise, it's impossible to ignore at this point. That said, I think there is a lot of merit for his selfishness to finally lead him to sell. I am still not going to believe it until I see it, because I know he loves owning this team more than almost anything, but I will say that there is a real possibility it actually happens. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed but I dare not hope too much!

I Believe they're contractually stuck.. if i'm not mistaken the thought was they wouldn't come anywhere near the table once the contract expired.

It wasn't long after it got out that Snyder was using PI's to investigate other owners and Goodell until he all of a sudden decided to put the team up for sale. I'm thinking they'll have enough reason to vote him out, not to mention the investigation that seems to be on hold until he sells the team. Might be a big pile of dirt hiding in there that nobody wants getting out.

What the hell does that word salad mean?

Can I put in a bid for none of the team?

i'm sorry but this is about one of the least shocking developments surrounding this guy in the last 20 years.

I read it. Not having a full independent board for a charity of that size just seems like more corporate incompetence. I mean, did they learn nothing from years of not having a legit HR department and all the issues that sprang from that? Bunch of novices running the show by all appearances. I don’t see anything that sounds criminal here but doing things like accidentally paying your bills with charity money is pretty sketchy and at best just incredibly sloppy management.

This is not a good look-

~Failed to disclose that a company it regularly lists on governmental filings as one it owes money to is owned by team owner Dan Snyder.

This is what happens when a team changes hands too late in the offseason for new ownership to do what they want to do.

The Broncos changed coaching staffs and offensive systems, brought in a new QB, and have suffered the worst injury record in the league this year. Hackett is likely the least of the issues but new ownership has an excuse so he is out anyway.

Washington's future?
