Terry is currently the 5th all-time receiver in Washington history. He is still over 400 receptions short of Art Monk’s 888, but he only needs 108 catches to pass Santana Moss for third all time:

Where do you think he ends up?

He has a good chance to pass Clark if he plays all next season. I sadly don’t think he puts up the 108 he needs to pass Moss, if we’re lucky he’ll come back and catch 25 balls this year. He won’t catch over 80 next year. And I think it’s unlikely he plays for us in 2027.

The more he gets catches when/if he gets back this year, the less he has to do next year to pass either of those guys. I just don’t see him playing many games or accumulating many receptions this year. So even giving him the benefit of the doubt that he plays all next season, he’s got his work cut out for him. And he’s really never been a high reception guy, though as he loses his speed I could see him transitioning into more of a slant king role. But then he’ll likely get hurt more often and the concerns continue.

So, no. I sadly don’t think he passes Santana

Because it seems like all the blame gets put solely on Terry.

Terry is a grown-ass-man. It’s silly to put much of the onus on the agent, because nine times out of ten, it’s the player directing the agent in terms of what he is looking for in a deal. Terry got a very fair offer at the start of the offseason and rejected it.

In some ways, I'm glad.

I like that the records of Monk and Clark are attached to glory years. Terry has had a great career, but for the most part he has been a few memorable seasons. That's not really his fault, but it's still true.

Where do you think he ends up?

This is a great question. Here's the full list:

1. 888 - Art Monk
2. 649 - Charlie Taylor
3. 581 - Santana Moss
4. 549 - Gary Clark
5. 473 - Terry McLaurin

So Terry is 76 from Clark, 108 from Moss, 176 from Taylor and 415 from Monk.

Here are catches per season from Terry:

2019 58
2020 87
2021 77
2022 77
2023 79
2024 82
2025 13

So, if he had one "normal" season, he'd catch Clark.

If he had 2 "Normal" seasons, he'd catch 'Tana.

2025 looks to be an entire wash, he's not going to get to 50 this year. Just because of the time he's missed.

I think he gets to Clark. He has an outside chance to get to Santana, if we find out this year's injury situation is just a one-off type of thing.

I don't see him getting all that close to Taylor or Monk.

I also don't see him finishing his career here anymore. If you asked me in January, I would have said that was very likely. I think now, he probably plays one, MAYBE 2 more years here. But I see a real world where he gets released after 2026.

I really think they should just IR him that way they can sign somebody to the active roster and be done with it.

This way they are going to have to keep elevating people from the PS, and you can only do that 3 times. They did it with Tay Martin 3 times, then cut him. Chosen was up 2 weeks ago. This week its WR Treylon Burks.

I think we all know this to be true even though we like Terry. There are too many games where he's just been erased. So we know he's not on that elite/magical level, but probably one tier below that.

When healthy, Terry is a good #1 receiver. Maybe a "replacement level #1 WR." Which is pretty good.

But he's not a Jefferson or Lamb, or that kind of player.

Those guys rarely if ever can be taken out of the game plan by a defense. Defenses can roll a guy to Terry and he can be handled. Or, in certain matchups, he can be handled 1:1.

He's very good. (When healthy.)

But he's not THAT guy.

I will say, we don't NEED that guy. I still think Terry + Deebo together + some contributions from whoever is 3/4 and Ertz + running game could be elite. There would be enough variety, and Daniels is a weapon himself, it would be just fine.

However we haven't seen near what the vision was to see if I'm right. We kindof saw it for 2 weeks, but that was after Terry hadn't practice in 8 months. We had the hold-in, then the opener, 4 days later the GB game, and then Daniels was out, then McLaurin was out.

I mean…it would be pretty cool to have “that guy” eventually for Daniels. WR, TE, I don’t care. I want a go-to stud that the entire D gravitates towards and it doesn’t matter.

Yeah. I think it would be awesome. But those guys are really hard to find. You have to draft them and get lucky.

They’re hard to find, but there’s usually at least a dozen of the type of guys I’m talking about in the league at any given time. That’s what we pay AP the big bucks for, I think he’ll find a focal point type player sooner than later for us. Not necessarily a destined HOF talent type like Chase or JJ (those are indeed rarer), but close enough to scare defenses and dictate games alongside a franchise QB. More are entering the league every year, we’re due to find one eventually

Nah. He will miss the Broncos game if we IR him. This way he can play that game. He also can't practice with the team if on IR. This way he can return to practice after the Miami game or possibly even before

I have my doubts he plays the Broncos game one way or another. I get there’s a bye in there but if he re-injured a quad, which took 4 weeks to heal the first time, I’m not sure it’s going to be a shorter recovery.

People are so inconsistent. I'm seriously hearing people berate Peters, saying the reason for our downfall this season was an overreliance on seeing older vets while simultaneously crucifying him for not caving to all McLaurin's demands and signing Terry more quickly.
