I honestly dont get it. If the team was going to cave to his demands than why have the drama all of camp. Should have done it from the beginning. Unless Terry was truly asking for an outrageous amount of money. This is a lot of cake for a 30 YO receiver heading into his twilight years.
 
In the end result Terry's camp came off the $34-35M AAV and Washington although not publicized yet probably has front-loaded his guaranteed money to get him paid before Jayden's deal needs to get redone.

It could very well be that this is a 2 year deal when all is said and done.

The truth of the matter is the Steelers were the idiots in the process, trading for and paying a WR who put up very pedestrian numbers in 2024 as if he had just come off his 2021 or 2022 seasons.

Amusing a bit as well when noting that the team now has 42 year old flake Aaron Rodgers as the quarterback for 2025.

There are 3 players that are going to be looking for new deals after 2025 - Tunsil, Lattimore and Luvu.

My guess is based on age, position and injury history that Lattimore is going to end up as the odd man out, especially if Trey Amos turns out to be this year's Quinyon Mitchell.
 
It will be interesting to see the final structure, I'd imagine year 3 we can walk away with a reasonable cap hit if needed. Anyway, glad this shits over as much as the drama pisses me off and I wished we'd held firm that's the past, now go kick some ass.
 
TM got a 3 year deal with up to 96 million. Key words "up to". I like that!
 
I wouldn’t get all carried away about the headlines. I doubt AP cares an iota about what it sounds and looks like, so neither should we. I feel rather confident that there’s plenty of fluff in that figure.

Again, the Steelers contaminated the WR market by paying a sub-par DK Metcalf off his 2024 numbers a top contract.

And perhaps Washington can't complain that much as club owners and GMs around the league were upset for 10-15 years when Dan Snyder was doing this kind of thing.

As it is McLaurin's deal may end up being for 2 years, depending upon the guarantees, incentives, etc.

When Washington did not draft a wide receiver in Round 1 or 2 of the draft or acquire a potential deep threat in trade, it made the team that much more dependent upon McLaurin coming back.

And based upon what we have seen so far from Conerly and Amos I think Peters did the right thing.

Echo chamber is having your beliefs bounced back to you again and again, over and over and over, without hearing much of anything else.
 
The signing bonus may or may not be the totality of the guaranteed money. But DK got 60m guaranteed.
 
Yeah and probably something like 55-60M guaranteed.

Yep. Possibly anyway. I guess we’ll see. If there’s any more diva like behavior now that the contracts been signed, then I’ll agree with you. If not, then it’s certainly plausible that the behavior has been an act for the sake of the negotiations. Hard for me to believe that a diva for all those years wasn’t constantly screaming “Give me the damn ball!” which is certainly something he had reason to do.
 
At first glance it appears Terry won and AP buckled. It also would mean Buddy Baker may earn some credit in the eyes of some players
 
Jerry Jones though made a mistake in paying Dak Prescott a top 5 contract he has had to renegotiate a couple of times which put his team up against the cap next year with a cap hit of $75M for Dak.

If Dallas has a team where 3 or 4 players are making all the money that really helps the other teams in the division that can continue to improve themselves in free agency and via trade.

Dallas will sink as these players age or perhaps start to suffer injury problems.
