The All Things Terry Thread

Terry is also risking getting passed by a very unique opportunity. This fanbase is as endearing as any in the NFL. When we have 'a guy' it's another level. You're set for life. A guy like Terry can lock in his career AFTER football in Washington if he wants to. Guys like Santana Moss, London Fletcher, hell... Logan Paulsen who didn't exactly have a premium NFL career, find their way into opportunities in Washington. Terry has that available right now where he can have a home for the next 30 years if he wants it.

Sigh. This is so disappointing.

I doubt Peters and company would pull the trigger on any trade which isn’t a clear overpayment by the other team.

If there is a team willing to give up a first round pick + something and pay Terry $35+ million, I’ll eat my shorts.

I wonder if the trade for Deebo really got under Terry’s skin more than he let on. They are paying Deebo more this year than Terry, and maybe that irks Terry.
this is terrible thought process by terry's team. he will have to make a sacrifice between money and a shitty situation. I doubt any, good contending team is willing to trade a 2nd (I don't think anything less is gonna be accepted by AP) and pay Terry 34+ million. FAFO mode now.

I would never have said this about Terry before this whole fiasco, but part of me wonders if how many phantom "injuries" he'll have if he's forced to play this year on his current contract.

I know on the field he's always been a team player, but I can't see this whole thing not at all coloring that, as he could potentially see those "injuries" as a business decision. It would be myopic on his part, but everything he's done in these contract negotiations thus far has been extremely myopic.

Ok, call me crazy but I have seen this before. Not so much in the NFL. My two cents for what it's worth is that this is a new owner, new gm and new qb. JH and AP want nothing to do with Snyders team and that may include TM. I dont believe thay were ever going to extend his contract. He would be the last big name hold over. This is Josh's team. Look at last year's roster turnover and this year's remaining players. He's got one year left and there was no need to negotiate. As sad as this, maybe this is reality for now. Now, having said all that he probably signs in a couple of weeks.

it would hurt him going into his contract year at age 31. he as ZERO leverage. whatever he does here, I can guarantee it will be a bad move in some aspect.

my only hope is that this trade request is his last hail Mary he thinks he has up his sleeve, but he's not really serious.

I made a similar comment the other day...I don't want a pissed-off Terry on the field.
Just sit his ass. Don't play him if he starts off with 'tude.

No need to overpay a WR for Jaden Daniels production boost. Mc Laurin knows what he has here he just got the values all screwed up.

Peters knows that there are plenty of WRs who would excel with this current QB.

I think most good players tend to ask for new contracts when coming into their final season on their current one. And usually teams oblige out of good faith and because they want to reward good players and keep them around. But in this case, they're acting in good faith by agreeing to give him a new deal, but it sounds like Terry's side isn't, because they're asking for a completely unrealistic contract and then going public and whining when they don't get it.
Terry is awesome, love his hands. he can hold onto the ball unconscious. Love Terry

I trust in the foresight of this FO though. If they dont want to pay him, theres a reason. Later Terry

Well not to mention he specifically is being mentored by Magic Johnson. Yikes

I wonder how long before the team calls him out on his bogus ankle injury that everybody on the planet already knew was fake.

Cant imagine they're gonna pay him his salary for long while holding in and also demanding a trade.

Despite this contract drama, Terry isn't a selfish, diva malcontent. He has a great relationship with the community/fans, the coaches, and Jayden, so I think if he's on the field, he'll be giving his all. He's a professional.
