The All Things Terry Thread

He really is coming off like a pouty little kid. Never thought i would think that of him. Even if he really believes he deserves top 5 money he could have certainly handled this better. My first inclination is to tell him to grow up. His team mates are out there playing for a bottom of the roster spot to earn NFL minimum with zero guarantees. At least look like you give a shit about them.

Trey Hendrickson is going to do the same thing, and who knows what Parsons is going to do.

The Hendrickson situation is very similar contractually to Terry's situation in this regard: He's on the last year of his deal and scheduled to make $15m this year.

I don't know if he is going to carry this into the regular season also.

The difference is historically pass rushers have not dropped off as much as WRs after 30.

All of these situations are messy.

Terry's didn't have to be.
its a "bit" different :) Hendrickson and Parsons are elite.. and have significantly overplayed their previous contracts. (not saying sitting out is the right move for them either)
Terry got paid very well in his first extension and is nowhere close to elite. He is making significant money this year and feels "disrespected" due to his own stupidity.

I think there's a point in time in somebody's career that you need to evaluate yourself and what your actual strengths, weaknesses and value are. I've done this myself and realize that I've always worked for the top 5% or the top 10% employers in the world but I was no Ramanujan/genius.

I know my strengths and what I bring to the table, which is different than many others. I have a very strong blend of various skillsets and am an asset to any organization. Do I make top 5% or 10% money? No. Do I make top 15% or 20% money? Yes.

At some point reality sets in. You need to honestly evaluate yourself and accept who you are as well as what you bring to the table. I'm not talking about underestimating yourself, but rather take a half a step down and still do very well. This takes a little time and maturity to do this.

Don't you let your ass be bigger than your britches. Get me?

Honestly this is what I think he needs to do. He's never going to get what he thinks he deserves. All he's doing is fucking himself by being arrogant hence the reason he doesn't have an extension. If he was one of the top receivers in the league? He would be getting trade offers and he is not. He is very good but he is not top 5%

I'm sure AP is a stand up GM and is working fairly with Terry. Take the deal AP is offering, play on your deal or try and trade him to a team and get something for him. Tired of the drama.

That may be true. Although I suspect most teams and players don't want the distraction in the middle of the season.

If you believe AI, Aiyuk did a hold-in and signed 4 days before the start of the season
Should have thought to do the search because the memory wasn’t clear. Thanks for the correction. I did some searching and saw that. 2024 August then injured after a few games and lackluster start.

Thanks again for the correction. I thought Aiyuk was a case that made it to the regular season.

What the hell is wrong with Noah Brown?

Since nobody seems to want to say anything about his injury I am led to believe he was attacked by a demogorgon from the upside down while visiting Hawkings.

If that sentence makes no sense to you, you don’t watch Stranger Things. (I’m watching it for the first time and it’s pretty good. )

4yr 17 per is 68million in new dollars. 79 million guaranteed....

Wasting time posting fake tweets and can't even bother with math. Bonus douche points 👏
Sorry I work 80 plus hours a week and got fulled by a fake post I read. Obviously others let me know my mistake.

I believe CommDownMan was referencing the original 'fake poster', not you. Just sayin'... we don't tolerate folks attacking each other here. Let's move on.

Nice reference! I finally got my daughter to take a chance on it and she couldn't stop watching! Now we're both impatiently waiting for the final season in November!

Dude has let this drag on so far, the only thing that can repair it is an all-pro season and a Lombardi. Even then, if by some small chance he had that kind of a season, he’d likely ruin it by talking about the “disrespect” publicly.

I realize he DGAF what I think, but this dude is more disappointing by the day. Suck. It. Up. Bet on yourself. Whatever it is you need to accept it. Just do it now and quit embarrassing yourself.

I don't actually agree with this. Assuming there is a new deal of some type, I think:

1. At least 70% of the fans think the team should just pay Terry what he wants because they are really concerned about the money from Billionaires.
2. The news cycle moves so fast, this is all going to get forgotten by the media and most fans by the time we hit the end of September assuming he's on the field and playing
3. The national media idiots are going to make it out like Terry "won" in the end almost no matter what.

JP said if Terry was on the field during open practices to the public, a "Pay Terry" chant would have probably broken out.

I think most fans just don't care and want him to get paid. The blowback he's getting on twitter and on message boards only reaches a smallish subset of fans.

Until the national media types like Pat McAfee and others take a hard line against Terry, it's all going to blow over for the majority of fans.

For some of us who follow more closely, the wound is deeper and will be harder to heal.
