The All Things Terry Thread

It might actually be helpful if McClaurin seeks permission for a trade, to bring him back to reality.

And if a team actually is willing to pay him, my trade terms would be reasonable, something like the 2nd rounder Pittsburgh gave for Metcalf. That’s how I would honor the past service. Hurts their chances this year, but sets a better negotiating precedent than paying a cap space premium.

Yeah he hinted at it could come down to that, then leaked its on the table, and now this

Ironic that we have joint practices with the Patriots next week… interesting timing given they would be the most likely suitor in a trade for Terry.

"No problem, Terry. Find a team willing to give you the money you want and also give up a 1st + 3rd round 2026 draft pick and we'll approve it."
Yeah I think the one possible shot is the Pats

I wonder what he really wants. Sad that he is taking this step.

It's weird. For years, he was the primary face of the franchise. Clearly, that's now Daniels. Maybe it's harder to be the ultimate team guy when you aren't the central spoke of the team?

I think this is ultimately just a negotiating tactic on his end, but I also think his camp is starting to realize that the Commanders may be completely fine with having him play this year under his current contract and tagging him next year.

For the record, I want Terry here, but I also think about Gibbs II and Lavernius Cole. When Cole didn't want to be here, Gibbs granted him his wish. A disgruntled player no matter how talented doesn't help the chemistry.

I wonder what the narrative within the locker room is?

He arguably got overpaid and spoiled on that front with his last contract. I gather he expected it would happen again and he comes off aghast and shocked that it hasnt gone down like that again

Did they give too much power to Terry by not drafting a player like Jayden Higgins or bringing in another mid/high WR? It was thought to be showing commitment to Terry

Why TM Why? Why now, why not when this team sucked? You have been here forever and you want to value money NOW when we are on the verge of turnaround (I know you deserve it tho)? My teenage son and I are so sad, just hearing the trade request and I hope it does not come true, somehow, cuz he is a lifer but then again it's a business too :(

My apologies for being a bit emotional here :(

Thats what i would do. I wouldnt trade him unless i got some crazy good deal.
