The 2026 Free Agency Thread

If we could get Brian Thomas Jr. for a 2027 draft pick I might be in favor of that over paying Jennings $100m.

In the future, AP really really needs to keep his draft picks, and stack up extra picks as well because he is just way too cheap, or way too disciplined in how he spends the money, to be doing the FA thing as a major need year after year.
I love his hard line on signing guys.

But it doesn’t work when that is the way you can get guys. If this team got consistently good AP’s strategy wins championships. His strategy is sound.

He’s NOT bad GM. This is a really tough situation.

Teams like NE for years under Belichick could draw a hard line on salaries and even trade away good players rather than paying them above a certain level but for most of the Patriots run Scott Pioli and the front office were finding pro bowlers in Round 4 or 5 of the draft.

We haven't been doing that. Neither have some of the other teams circling around these players.

I think the Ravens are laughing at the Raiders spending beyond LT money on Linderbaum.

The Raiders have spent big before and ended up rolling snake eyes.

Doubs got about what was expected. Maybe a million more but in the ballpark per year.

He was my top get left over Okonkwo and Jennings

Makes me wonder if we try to trade up from 71 for a WR in the late 2nd round. If we still had a 2nd I wouldn't be feeling nearly as bad (2nd is loaded with WR talent) but it's not like we don't want Tunsil either.

If we are thinking of trading up and give up picks to move to Round 2 why not just give up a 2027 pick and trade for Brian Thomas who was a top 20 pick and we already know can play and is what 25?

We don't have the capital to trade up, and most of the projected 2nd round guys are fairly big flyers IMO.... if any do hit, it's usually in year 2. We've got Terry and a bunch of JAGs... we absolutely have to get at least one more proven receiving option here in FA.

I am still recovering from the release of River Cracraft. What a great name for a Louisiana boatman.

Jets are a happenin' destination. That trophy case full of Lombardis is always a crowd pleaser.
