The 2026 Free Agency Thread

What's up with the damned crickets?

Are there are couple of dominoes that people are waiting to fall?

Are the next tier of FAs asking for $$$ that most teams just can't stomach?

Has everyone already used their 5 zoom calls and now the process is going slower?

WTF, WTF, WTF...... Hurry up everyone

The bean counters are trying to decide which okay but not great veteran can be cut so that we can get more cap space to sign Steven Sims to a cap friendly deal.

That's my fear, too

it’s painful, but it’s true. Tennessee’s GM has spent the money and done what it takes to mostly fill their other holes. They are penciling in Love at four, and looking forward to a little cap space replenishment when they get rid of pollard. Remember, they came in with basically the same needs we did… Edge, receiver. As well as a need for star power, and a highly drafted young quarterback who needs weapons to aid his development. They’ve had the same conversations we’ve had, and come to the same conclusion. They are taking Love.

Well the Lions signed Pacheco so another average RB gone.

BMitch and Finlay, "expect some incoming news in the next hour". Finlay said there's rumblings over at the park. He thinks WR coming today (mentioned maybe Doubs/Jennings).

I will be extraordinarily disappointed if the FA playmaker signings are mild and then the team misses out on Love on top of that. I know Love was never a given, but I don't know who else they can rely on in the draft in the first or later to actually be a useful weapon on day 1.

It just seems like Peters is throwing darts at a board and hoping something sticks. For a team that has so many holes, I just didn’t anticipate seeing teams like the Raiders more active than us. It just seems like we stumbled out of the gates a bit when we’ve known for a long time now what we need. Hopefully today brings us those players. I want to see us win at the end of the day.

Ok, general primer for this free agency, the Raiders were going to overbid on everyone because they had to.

The NFL has a hard salary cap done every year but also a hard salary floor averaged over prior 3 years. Raiders were way under the salary floor. They needed to spend big to not get in trouble for cap violations.

They blew up the Center market by handing out a contract that's 150% of the previous high. They did things like this because they were required to spend more money than any other team.

Tate or Lemon.

I’m not on the draft Love train. I get the appeal of adding an elite talent but I think you can get a productive back at a much lower draft cost. I’m still edge/LB/WR at the #7 pick.

You are quite the kool aid drinker amigo. And always seem to clash with my takes, but it’s whatever though. At the end of the day, Peters hasn’t exactly inspired confidence and belief in his time here to warrant any type of good faith. We seemingly have just as many holes on this roster as we did since he arrived. Is that not alarming to you?

Come on man. SIP is one of the most informed, thoughtful and valuable posters on this board. I don’t always agree with him but always see where he’s coming from and it’s always a logical take, right or not. I doubt he “always” clashes with your takes, that’s a pretty extreme statement. A kool aid drinker would see all things as black/white and respond to things happening with the team based on reflexive emotion impulsively overruling thought or reality.

Hmmm.. reminds me of somebody…

Leading up to legal tampering, future expectations are fun.

I know they need to fill air time. But dang I hate these statements during actual tampering/signing periods. It's not done until the ink dries. Don't tell me to expect things. Just boo.

Not directed at you Higskin, just a general grumble.
