The 2026 Free Agency Thread

Just starting to feel like all the money spent on Raljon and Ashburn, plus the money coming up for the stadium has them tight for funds.

Hendrickson is still a free agent.

Exactly my first thought - we could and should have signed Tunsil to a new deal when he was traded for, it would have looked cheaper a year ago.

It's funny. Some of us respond to our anxiety about what the team will be when the dust settles by expecting the worst. Others handle it by putting on rose-colored glasses and hoping for the best. But we all want the same thing - which often gets lost in translation :)
Im a flip flopper.

I have gone through several pairs of rose colored glasses that I smashed to a thousand pieces under my foot.

I don't want Hendrickson. He's 31 and guess what....................coming off an injury plagued season!

Surprise! :geek:

If you don't want to give Linderbaum or Likely or Pierce top of the line money then you sure don't want to give a 31 year old coming off an injury prone season a contract to the tune of $25M a year.

I would imagine that Peters wouldn't either. But then again we appear to be bipolar.

Standig on and on about how they are in on Allegier, now saying they were in on him, I'll give him credit for honesty

This is fantastic.

I get literally crushed for wanting Tunsil re-upped… then they do it and they don’t get credit for it.

Assuming isn’t a real thing.

I assume Yasmine Bleath was attracted to me when I was 18 years old. She wasn’t. At least not that I know of.

He’s signed. Yes, should have happened when we traded for him. But he’s signed.

Him being on the field is a huge deal.
I wish I felt the same enthusiasm for Tunsill, and I am glad he's back. But the boat was sinking last year and the most that has happened is the team agreeing to not drill a new hole in the boat. The team is still drowning and reports so far are that the cost of repairing the ship with anything more expensive than plywood and nails goes over the budget.

Never the bride. Always the bridesmaid.

I'd settle for feeling up the bridesmaid in the coat room at this point.

I’ve been concerned with this for a couple of years now and I have not been happy with the FO. They get credit for Tunsil, though. And there are a lot of good targets available still. We have to let it play out.

All we have done so far is pay a cornerback who is far from being considered a top performer a mid-level contract for 2026.

Expected. He's 33 and looking to go to a winner.

See how it goes? 49ers get a HOF quality receiver and good character guy and we inherit there BS laden garbage Brandon Aiyuk.

Seems like the plan was go all in for Pierce and anything else is icing on the cake. Now the problem is what if there is no cake
