The 2026 Free Agency Thread

Re-signing Treylon Burks is a positive move. Good job, FO.

I need to see the money first.

Dude was a prospect I hated, who played like garbage in Tennessee (when he could find the field), and was a stop or two from being out of the league. He made a ridiculous catch for us and looked competent, but the latter isn’t much of a feat when we’ve been watching Chris Moore and Robbie Chosen.

I want him in camp but I’m not ready to add him to the 53 yet. We already have 2 guys in that room who are special teamers. Plus Terry, that’s 4 out of 6 already accounted for and a long way to go.

Point is I hope the money isn’t much more than a camp body to compete for a roster spot.

Looks like Burks got “up to $4M”, which as we know could mean anything below that with incentives up to 4. Will be interesting to see the base

Makes sense, I have no problem with a bunch of incentives. All about making him earn the roster spot to me. And hope he does!

Bears acquired C Garrett Bradbury from the Patriots for a fifth-round pick

Bradbury has been a capable-if-unexciting center for a few years now, and even though the Patriots made it the Super Bowl he posted his worst PFF run blocking grade of his career in the process. Bradbury has one year remaining on a two-year contract signed last offseason. He may not be Chicago’s only attempt to address the sudden retirement of Drew Dalman, but he offers them a capable floor.

"Capable if unexciting center"....Biadasz should have at least fallen into that description!

DAFUQ!

Yet we got nothing for an actual good center.

Not sure where Dan G’s getting this from but I’d dig it, as a start to FA.

Seems more likely Walker goes to KC or NY, but who knows

Just a quick reminder for those who will get upset when they see the initial amount of money that is being paid out in free agent contracts:

1. The Salary Cap has risen nearly $24 million since last season

2. The amount of money listed in the initial announcement is the total amount of money that CAN be paid to that player. The real money that matters is the guaranteed and how many seasons that is spread out over.

3. I would rather them overspend than not all all.

AP and DQ have to produce, AG1. It's this year or else.

This would really allow alot options with 7th pick. If he is right I would be juiced.
