They better have a plan to be at least as good at the position, and they better be right. If all of a sudden Center is a glaring weakness, that's a very bad look.

He obviously was, as was Allen. It might work out, he might be done and the Chargers might be desperate to fix their OL. Other teams make mistakes too--this automatic assumption that everything we do is wrong is really getting old. It's knee-jerk pessimism.

I think letting Allen go was probably a good move. Payne and Allen had been together for too long and they had never been an elite tandem, which was the plan.

Did Kinlaw replace Allen entirely? Maybe not, but having Allen wasn't going to help anything either.

Right, just because he was wanted doesn't mean he is actually worth the contract. He was just cut.

Yeah the move just felt abrupt and led to yet another roster hole.

I hope they have a plan and it isn't Allegretti and can be had come Monday without other team interference.

Lattimore on that contract he was on would have brought a negative value to any potential deal lol, he’ll make a lot less than that on the open market. But definitely wouldn’t have acted as a sweetener to any potential deal. More of a poison pill

Probably. My point really is, you have to ask. And I don't think they were going to do anything until after the combine when they talked to everybody about everything.

The one thing I appreciate is if they didn't think Biadacz was the right answer, they didn't just do the easy thing and keep him anyway.

You will not get an argument on that from me. Do you ever recall a negative comment about Biadasz's play? Honestly, I recall them from many players over the past 2 years but none for him.

Commanders re-signed WR Treylon Burks to a one-year contract.

Burks had a Catch Of The Year candidate on his lone touchdown catch last season, finishing with a 10/130/1 line in spot duty. He’s not likely to start out the year in the Commanders starting three-wide, but he’s a reasonable depth option and should have a good shot to win a roster spot.
