Keim isn't talking about CB depth, edge depth or RB. So for them to have more minimal moves on that front, OK.

Keim is saying he's hearing they are shooting high at Edge, WR, CB. And medium at TE. He doesn't seem to know what else.

If they do that I am satisfied, those are the three code red spots IMO and have expressed that on this thread for months. If they shoot high to address those spots it should change the team in a good way IMO.

Hopefully that’s correct, they need to shoot high.

Just seem to be so many “but they won’t overpay” caveats that make me fear another FA period full of C+ additions, which this staff can’t afford.

We’ll find out fairly soon I guess. I don’t want them to be reckless but I want them to show some urgency for supporting Daniels.
 
I wonder what kind of injury settlement we'll have to deal with.
 
We probably don't have enough and there is no way they probably would give him to us anyways but I would love to get him.

If they as Keim seems to think sign 3 marquee FAs at 3 of the most expensive spots in FA, that alone should put them in the top 3 FA spenders this season.

The idea that they want to complement spending those spots with other players, too, seems to be a red flag to some here because they are clinging on to those players as if they are the main actors not supporting actors. For me its making me think the opposite. It's got me more juiced that they want add more than just one main player at those spots.

Standig was just on Sheehan, and said he thinks they sign two edges. He talked about Doubs and Jennings. Again I doubt someone like Thorton would be their main signing at WR.

Again, we are all just guessing. My feeling could end up dead wrong. But hearing basically about what it sounds like the side dishes to the main meal if anything encourages me
 
I’d trade a 5th rounder for him. Maybe? He had 11.5 sacks his 2nd year, but has averaged 4 sacks a year the last 2 years and also his rookie year. I’m not sure I’d spend tha much money on that.

He does have good movement skills. He might be a better fit in a Flores defense than some other guys.

The won't overpay narrative seems to be a point exclusive to Likely or Okonkwo at TE or TE in general -- and nothing else. Seems like they have a set price for what they think they are worth.

But otherwise the rumors-leaks whatever they are seem to be they will swing big at WR, Edge, CB. Will find out soon of course.

If they sign a marquee, edge, receiver and cornerback they can fill in the rest of the gaps with second tier guys, I'd be fine with that.

But if our big splash this year is an overpay of a javon kinlaw type consider me underwhelmed.

No way, his cap hit is $15m. That's a lot for someone who went from inconsistently good/bad to consistently bad.

Put it this way, we're biased because we saw him twice a year from 2022 and 2023. He crushed us, or more specifically crushed Charles Leno our LT. Of his 23.5 sacks, 5.5 of those came against Charles Leno. But that's the pinnacle of his career.

This season he had 2.5 sacks.
  • 0.5 of that came against our rookie RT's first NFL start (that was also a coverage sack, it came around 4 seconds in the pocket)
  • 1 came on a stunt with Abdul Carter where Carter split both LT/G and almost got the sack anyways instead of Thibs
  • 1 came against Justin Herbert where he stepped up to avoid other pressure and started scrambling. It was a loss of like half a yard, maybe a full yard depending on spot
So of his 2.5 sacks last season, 0.5 came against a rookie, and 2 were from cleaning up other teammates pressures. There's a reason the Giants traded for Brian Burns and then also drafted Abdul Carter. They knew Thibs was just not that good.

But even that 11.5-sack total was not really representative of his level of play that year. Thibodeaux ranked 12th in the NFL in sacks that season but checked in just 67th in pressures and 107th in pressure rate out of the 145 players who rushed the passer 250 times or more.

He just happened to have a sack-to-pressure ratio that was an outlier and looks nothing like the one he has posted in the other three seasons of his career. During that 2023 season, 26.7% of Thibodeaux's pressures resulted in sacks. He has otherwise been at 10% (2022), 14.5% (2024) and 7.8% (2025). It's no surprise, then, that he's totaled only 12 sacks in his three non-2023 seasons.

Would we sign Thibs for $15M on the open market? Or would we go after other Free Agents for $15M? Probably other Free Agents right?

IF those are AP's targets and he came away with either one of Mafe or Oweh at EDGE, either one of Watson, Dean or Woolen at CB, either one of Pierce or Jennings, I'm happy.

Nothing but words but I like my chances when both the 2nd most plugged in national reporter and the most plugged in local reporter expect them to be aggressive.

Also it makes sense. I've criticized Peters plenty but he's not stupid. He would have to be stupid to follow a 5-12 season with a really good QB on a rookie contract with a modest FA approach.

The eagles screwed us with Donovan McNabb, we handed the cowboys Dexter Lawrence on a silver platter and we gave the eagles Cooper dejean.

Seriously have we ever come out on top with an inter division trade?

Not often but yes. Here's another example of a dumb trade gone horribly wrong

In the 1996 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins traded their second- and third-round picks to the Dallas Cowboys to move up and select offensive tackle Andre Johnson with the 30th overall pick. Washington sought to secure Johnson as a potential replacement for veteran tackle Jim Lachey. Ultimately, the move is often cited as a draft disappointment, as Johnson never played a regular-season game for the team
