The 2026 Free Agency Thread

Ugh. Not very exciting to hear.

Saying they won’t “overpay“ for a tight end tells me they aren’t serious about signing a quality one.

Bringing back old guy Jones at corner would be depressing.

Same for Von Miller. What happened to getting younger???

Much rather keep the spot open for the possibility of drafting Love then to sign a mediocre back.

Tyquan Thorton at receiver? Hopefully that’s not the best we can do with all that cap room.

It’s not all bad, though… I do like that they are pursuing quality young players at edge, and I think we all can agree on bringing back Jacob Martin.

Keim thinks they are shooting hard/big at Edge, WR, and CB. And yes getting younger.

The idea that Von wants back doesn't mean this team wants him back. But I don't mind Von as depth.

I got no fear right now about them shooting low. Maybe I'll feel differently next Monday. But right now everything sounds like they will be aggressive.

The way I take the TE stuff. And this is men guessing this part is they are going at shooting high at WR, and want a TE too but might not think they can big for both a WR and TE so they want the TE at a reasonable price.

lol this coaching staff is so getting fired 10 months from now

Maybe.

But the Standig post blends in with the Keim podcasts with one exception.

the Von Miller stuff, Jonathan Jones, not shooting high at RB comes off fine to me in that context.

Keim isn't talking about CB depth, edge depth or RB. So for them to have more minimal moves on that front, OK.

Keim is saying he's hearing they are shooting high at Edge, WR, CB. And medium at TE. He doesn't seem to know what else.

If they do that I am satisfied, those are the three code red spots IMO and have expressed that on this thread for months. If they shoot high to address those spots it should change the team in a good way IMO.

Starting OC in 2026?

I really think he’s just the fallback plan. At least I hope so. Just in case they don’t get who they want in free agency. Assuming they assign someone else, I like him as a versatile back up that can play G or C.
If it’s Thorton, I think it would be the 2nd WR they sign. I doubt they'd sign him and call it a day
Certainly hope so. I didn’t think they were calling it a day after Noah Brown either but…

I guess my disconnect at tight end is they are shooting medium. That to me is different than saying you’re not going to overpay because all free agents require an overpay realistically.

I'm still a little baffled about Allegretti/Biadasz situation but I guess we will see. Is he to be the starter?

I reread the Standig article three times now, and some of what this dude mentions isn't in that article, so maybe its somewhere else? But for what its worth heres what he says

Would it be Doubs Jennings Thorton Brown? I'd hope for Doubs or Jennings and then maybe Thorton or Brown

I would think they are signing someone and he’s just the back up at G/C. But then again, I’m starting to have my doubts that we are really going to see the kind of spending spree we are expecting. So I guess I wouldn’t be shocked either way.

Yeah there have been a few minor trades and trade discussion being posted this morning. The tag season and being on the edge of tamper time are beginning to make things happen. There will be flurries of move over the next week and a half

I hear you, I am no longer certain of what's up at C.

The Thornton one was unique to Standig. Of course no way to know for sure, but my guesses based on combining what Keim and Standig have said but mostly Keim and extrapolating some based on knowing their history of name dropping especially as to Keim.

A. Shopping at the top end of the WR market. And probably a 2nd cheaper one. Doubs, Jennings, Shaheed

B. Shopping sort of the medium to top end of the edge market - guys like Mafe, Oweh, maybe Phillips. And probably a 2nd cheaper one.

C. Shopping at least in the medium aisle for CB, maybe bigger.

D. TE they want one but have a price. Not the end of the world if they bring back Ertz and the current crop worst case.

Got no idea what else.

I'd love Jennings or Doubs but especially Jennings who I have spoken on and off here about for months. One of my fav late round Wrs before the draft. Might be the best run blocking WR in the NFL.

Yea some people thought that we may be interested since DQ said that we needed a thumper but I guess not
Did someone say they needed a Thumper?

Agreed Jennings is the guy of the tier it appears they are shopping in with Doubs right behind him. They really need to land one and my hope a DB, a TE and yes to one of the Edge in that market

If they sign Jennings it would put me further in the J. Love camp.
