AP has final say on roster. Not Blough. He needs to have the stones to tell his OC no. If Blough wants a qb, fine. Let AP find one in UDFA. What/who Blough wants is irrelevant to proper roster building.

I mean, I know absolutely nothing about this guy, but only like 30% of 7th round picks make it to their 3rd NFL season, so it has a ton to do with who had a chance to make the roster.

If basically everyone else was a likely practice squad at best type of player.... might as well take the developmental QB that you want 🤷

if they know other teams have interest in him and they want to secure him then they did what they were supposed to do. the "consensus list" doesn't matter. it lacks the specific preferences of the teams, systems (offensive and defensive), feedback from scouts with insights you will never be privy too, and direct interactions with the prospective draftees. so the consensus draft board is meaningless except giving you a general idea. you view AK as a UDFA candidate. they didn't.

also, I dunno why you took a tongue in cheek comment to suggest AP has no backbone and will do whatever his coaches tell him to lol. calm down.
 
Interesting draft for us. Drafted RB and QB. Which I did not expect. The talent level in this draft was just simply poor. Drafted for traits and future development with a couple of these picks. And thats OK. Dont hate our draft overall.
 
Devon Marshall, Thaddeus Dixon as to Cbs in UDFAs. Bishop Fitzgerald at safety.

I view him as a 3rd string qb who will/ahould never play vs a potential contributor in a bad DB or WR room. Getting solid depth at other spots vs the practice squad qb is more important.
 
I'll say this in defense of the pick. Hopefully, next year we start talking extenstion for JD5. At that point, we may need to find savings. If they like the kid and think he can develop into a solid, upper tier back up, then getting our back up and giving him a year to get his feet under him while on a rookie contract makes some sense.

it's one pick. it's a 7th round pick. they went off of what they wanted. it just doesn't line up with your priorities. I can also assure you that 1 7th round DB or WR will not turnaround the entire group. they won't even see playing time. a third string QB will run the scout team and help develop your developmental players. having a bad third string QB like hartman will only stunt the other offensive players that practice with him.

Love Styles, love Antonio Williams.

I like what I’ve digested about Joseph and Gulbin and the Rutgers QB.

i didn’t expect Allen but I like the player a lot and do believe the RB room needed a boost

I recall diving into him a little and he’s a dude with high intangibles and supposedly very accurate. Whats the hit rate for 7th rounders like 5 percent? I am fine with anything you do in that round

Did you miss the 7th rounder last year? He started and played decently... in a very deep WR draft I would argue that another pick there would certainly get playing time over some of the bums currently on the roster.
 
One of the best things about the 2026 draft that no one's talking about.

We have a full 2027 draft. No picks traded away.
