and today, JP posted that he was one of the biggest steals in the draft on Twitter.

Really odd.

The pod was one of the most dour reflections on a pick I can remember.

Mitch said the pick was mind boggling.

I saw that, too. My guess was that the show was filmed just after the pick and they were scrambling for info about the guy and since he wasn't in the circle of players they knew and liked heavily downgraded him.

If you go based on his physical tools and scouting, this looks like a good pick. If you go based on his production and position, it’s kind of puzzling.

My grandparents came from Holland to Michigan, aunt lives in Holland, MI now. Love that area.

And I do like this pick. I see him having a big impact from the start. Between this and Chig I see the passing game improvements already without any FA additions, which are sure to come. If, and this is a big if, they sign Aiyuk and he is anything like he has been the past the receiving options just improved by a good bit.

My great grandparents came from Groningen, and settled in Holland and Grand Rapids. Grandpa moved to Ann Arbor where he was a family doctor. Mom grew up there, and my youngest graduated from UM in ‘22. Sitting in Rockford now, enjoying a beautiful 67 degree afternoon, after catching up with family I’ve not seen in ages.

But yes, he’s definitely a high upside guy.

I listened to the March 26, 2026 Daft on Draft episode on centers, and the big takeaway was pretty clear: this is a mid-round heavy class. There will be starters to come out of this group, but it’s hard to feel confident about exactly who those guys will be. James basically said there’s only one player he feels good about as a sure-fire starter, which kind of tells you where this class is at.


Matt Gublin: Both are higher than consensus here. James has him C5, Cory C3. Gublin is kind of a “player of extremes.” The good is really good—James called him a “doorstop” in the A gap with the best anchor in the class. Excellent lower body flexibility, tight inside hands, great at replacing and countering through reps. But the lateral quickness is a real issue, and the testing confirmed it—2nd percentile shuttle, 3rd percentile 3-cone. Both guys said it didn’t look quite that bad on tape, but it’s still a limitation. He’s not a great puller or second-level mover. Cory said he’s not a great mover but a controlled mover, and he fits much better in a gap/power scheme than outside zone.





The daftondraft guys were higher than consensus on Gublin. I think its a good sixth round choice.
