The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 2

We can hope (about McCaffery and Lane becoming better WRs). :) I think most fans are disappointed that we don't have enough weapons at WR for JD5 before the draft.
Me too and I wanted Love or Tate at 7. Both were gone.

They need production from McCaffery in year 3. Starter level production.

You can’t wish it into existence. But that’s what they need and should expect.

The need 3 of the 2nd and 3rd round pics from 2024 to take a step forward and become starters.

I wonder how much he was held back by his QB? Clemson supposedly had a bad year.

I'm not amazed by the little I've quickly skimmed. What is his super power? What's he good at? Sounds like he knows how to work a zone.
He's a YAC machine and runs a diverse route tree. As far as pure slots go, he's one of the better ones in the draft. The bar isn't set high. But again, I think he's a day one starter for us. Not my FAVORITE choice, but I'm happy enough.

That's interesting. The Youtube I randomly picked about him said he wasn't good at YAC. Good to hear they were wrong.

Just as an exercise, who should we have picked?

He’s the third best WR on the team and we are taking him with our third? No it’s a dumb move. I don’t care if SIP has done his research on him. He also wanted Tate 😂 Haulcy wouldvehelped our secondary tremendously

You should look up a guy named “Terry McLaurin” and the two better WR’s he played with in college. Sometimes you get value by targeting guys who weren’t peppered with as many targets as they’d get with worse teammates

You aren’t very good at having conversations. Being kind of a jerk in here

As far as being insufferable. Sorry, the shock of it made me giddy. I didn't think he was on their radar. And I watched a good 30 WRs in this class, and he was one of my favorites. This isn't me rallying around the pick after its done. I've been on this guy for months. So I am pleased.

Will see. As far as pushback, I recall getting it on Terry at the time. Third rounder, too. I can take the arrows. I've been right, I've been wrong about players. But generally, I've discovered over the years as to WR, go with good route runners who can seperate, it improves the odds. Will see.

Ah, Hurst was there. He's who I thought I wanted.

his super power is going to be keeping van jefferson off our roster.

If you want the negatives... they are there. He has a small frame and has some injury concerns. Missed 10 games in 4 years. Not terrible, but the frame questions and that equal a reason for some concern.

Had 11 TD in 2024 in the slot, though.

So both of our first two picks wore number "0". Interesting. Quick.. who is the next BPA wearing that number?

Honestly, it's good to hear. I want to hear excitement about our picks. I want to hear analysis.

Antonio Williams draft profile puts him right in that window for Blough to call plays that they did in Detroit for St. Brown.

Since Blough no doubt contributed to this pick directly and the WR position is largely wide open behind Terry, this is a guy that COULD see some regular time in 2026.

I think you’re being conservative, he’s immediately our second best WR no question. He’ll be on the field with the starters almost immediately by the time camp hits

We're surrounded!!!

Good stuff, SIP. Good stuff! Looking forward to seeing what he can do. He's drawn comparisons to Ladd McConkey and Christian Kirk from what I have found since searching on him.
