The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 2

I am a fan of Denzel Boston but this shows why he is dropping little. If he fell to the second round it would be a real value

This is why I love D'Angelo Ponds small or not

I'd love for us to be in position to draft Ponds. Only way it could happen is if we still had our 2nd round pick that the Texans now owns.

Brenen Thompson might be a poor man's version of DeSean Jackson. Mid-Later round 3 pick.

So we’re obviously looking for CB or WR at 71. Who will be there?
I'd also consider center. It's supposed to be a very good center draft and you might actually get one of the better ones at 71. WR would be the area I look at first though. Then, safety and center.

I’m not sure the Clemson back is the BPA at 71 and I’m not sure he really adds much to our backs besides a longer term contract that the rest of the room.

It’s just too early to predict what we do at 71. It’s still almost 40 picks away.

McCoy falling isn’t surprising, but I think he’s gone by then.

Receiver wise - we actually have some hope that some of the guys who CAN help us are there. But I have a feeling there will be a run.

Stowers probably goes relatively soon.

Secondary might be a spot that has options.

It’s just too early to really have any idea. We have a real long wait ahead of us.

I can imagine a world where we trade 71 and our 5th to trade up for a receiver. I can also imagine one where we trade 71 and Payne (though I like KDawg's Jag idea better) to trade up for a receiver, but the most likely scenario is we have to be patient and we are going to be looking at that third or fourth tier of receiver or BPA at another position.

I guess our links to him and the talk we have him ranked significantly higher than most drive the notion we’ll pick him. It has mine.

Trade back 10 places or so, collect a 4th rounder.

I’d personally hope a very good receiver or corner was still sat there though.

AP didn't sound like he had trade plans in his press conferences. He'd need to be burning up the phones today. You would think they'd have contingency plans

He did mention it in the one I watched earlier. Not a plan as such, but always an option.

I’m sure he’s working the phones today.

Good morning all! Stoked with the Styles pick - this skit is hilarious.

I missed that one. I led me to believe it wasn't even an thought in a couple that I watched. He does often keep his card close to his chest though.

I do think they had to have a contingency plan of some sort other than our current group and a 3rd rounder

I could be wrong, but I think the Clemson RB is more Day 3.

FWIW, Brugler has him rated as a 7th-UDFA

I am not at all on board on using #71 on a WR. Would love to trade back with a team like JAX or Miami that had an abundance of Day 3 draft capital and pick up an extra 4th or 5th.

A name I’d keep an eye on is Daylon Everette, CB from Georgia. They met with him a bunch of times

Hoping Haulcy falls to the third and we can grab him there. And hoping we can get the TE Koziol out of Houston tomorrow.

If Slaughter is there, he may actually be the BPA. But we just are too far away to even really discuss this at this point.
