The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

Could be that. Also just from thinking about all the past drafts, the last two weeks or so there are usually some shifts. I can see Styles going top 5.

Tate is harder unless its the Giants. The Cards don't need a WR, arguably the Titans are OK at WR. Going #2 seems a bit crazy to me.
Agree, except the Titans are very much looking for their future #1 WR. WanDale is seen as a reliable weapon in the slot but not a true #1, and they lost Chig. Their best boundary receiver right now is an aging injury prone Calvin Ridley.

They did spend some draft capital last year on Ayomanor and Dike though, so they may wanna give those guys a longer look rather than maybe be reaching for Tate. But regardless they are all about getting as many weapons as possible for their young QB.

Unfortunately, their situation is just like ours… Yes, they really want weapons for their young QB, but there is no better weapon in this draft than Jeremiah love. I’ll be pleasantly shocked if they take Tate over Love.

Aside from Ridley their WRs are young. I was listening to a Tennessee reporter on a Keim podcast and I got the vibe he thought they felt good about their WR situation. But you never know.

I wonder if they don't get Love, will they draft another RB on day 2, wait til day 3 or watch for cuts after the draft.

I know, there is no player that matches Love by a long shot, but I do like Coleman but he surely won't reach 71

Listening to the beat guys it feels like they feel that this team feels fine about RB, but would consider Love because he's so exceptional -- I think one point that's overplayed is that this team has covered all basis in FA hence they can do whatever they want in the draft. To me that's BS. WR is code red and CB is borderline code red. And judging by their combine-30 day visits they aren't hiding that thought.

My point is I'd be surprised if they took someone in the early third -- I agree Jonah likely would be gone, but I think good chance Price or Mike Washington will be there. But that early third round pick begs for them to go CB or WR depending on what they did in the first -- especially considering need likely meets BPA at that spot or close enough.

And we supposedly feel good somehow about our situation this year (which you rightfully have been blasting them for), so who knows. Not a good sign for the Titans if they are signing KJ Osborn lol.

Anyway, not all Titans reporters agree….

I am with you but thought I'd see others thoughts.

WR is a code red again...no still.

We also absolutely need a legit player who can cover and tackle be it a CB or FS.

I also am not enthralled with the C situation

I mentioned Coleman because to me, he is the only other guy I really like if they wanted a starting RB

Hell no. None of those guys are anymore spectacular than what we already have. Even if you think they are, to me, I still think they are guys that we can get next year or any time. We don't have many picks and I'd rather use them on different positions. All of our backs are at least solid

Dike, Ayamanor had good rookie seasons. Ridley got hurt last year but the season before he was a 1000 yard receiver. And they added Wandale Robinson, who had over 90 catches and 1000 yards last year. If that's issues at WR, lol, do the Commanders have problems, I'd kill to swap their WRs for ours.

I read the article, all it said was they still need a legit #1. Maybe. But is Tate a legit #1? I like him, more than most, but he's no sure fire legit #1. And for a team with basically two players who are thousand yard receivers on the team with also two good young WRs to complement them -- if they want to take it a notch even higher with a Nabers, Jefferson, type I get it. But is Tate that guy?

You need #5 or #6 and or camp bodies. I'd kill for their WRs compared to what we got.

I don't make much of what teams do with veteran camp bodies. I can easily say, the Titans didn't even care to bring back Chig and lol those covering this team are talking about him being their 2nd best passing weapon. And Van Jefferson they let go whoi couldn't crack that lineup much and heck if the season starts today he might be this team's starting Z.

Aside from Miami, I think Washington has the worst Wr corp in the league

For the Lemon enthusiasts, what does he bring over Omar Cooper?

He seems to rise to the occasion more in big moments and is more consistent. I like Cooper but he's struggled against some of their tougher opponents.

I think Lemon has better short area quickness and twitch. Cooper to me is the beyyer YAC play -- I comp him some to Luther Burden.

I like Lemon but I've become less enthused over time. I think Cooper or Concepcion might end up as good or even better. But I think Lemon has the higher floor.

Concepcion to me is the hardest read, I can totally see him becoming a star but also see him end up just a #3. He IMO has more upside than a lot of these WRs -- but he's so inconsistent.

Back to Lemon, I think you are getting the slot version of Tate. That is, high floor, medium upside. Both can end up being very good, and I wouldn't be surprised if that happens. But I'd be surprised if either one becomes a star. I am definitely though bigger on Tate than Lemon.

I don’t think you can count on much from Ridley at this point, but ok—maybe I’m grasping for reasons for them to pass on Love 😎

You have been one of Tates biggest fans, so if you don’t think he’s that guy, then I’m guessing he’s probably not. And if that’s the case, should we really be considering him at seven over guys like Delane or Downs?

If Love isn't in play I don't think they force it at RB, as others said, WR is much bigger need. I hope Tate is the pick at 7.

I dont think anybody advocating for Love at 7 is saying that the choice is made because of a need at RB. The majority off people wanting Love are doing so because that dude could be just so different, that you can't pass up on that sort of weapon.

Love seems to be the only guy that some Skins fans are stuck on. Besides him, people have multiple players that they will be OK with. Therefore I say if you are a massive Love fan then put him aside and spend the rest of the time planning for other guys. That way you won't be disappointed if he's gone because as of now, he seems to be the only guy who will have a lot of fans disappointed if he goes before us. Don't take the bait... Lol

I seriously doubt a team will offer their first for 2027, supposedly a historically good draft, to move up in a relatively weak draft.

So many are saying asking around don't expect many teams looking to trade up and if they do it won't be for a big haul.
In the trade hypothetical thread, I said that the only way I would not grouse about a trade down was if it included a 2027 1st.

I don't think it's going to happen.

I don't think any trade down is going to happen.

I really don't like the idea of trading down.

As you know, I'm super skeptical of any reporting about who's in what spot, and I take all the mocks with a grain of salt. I think it's great for fans and generally pretty meaningless.

However, the top WR going in the top 5 isn't exactly a hard thing to believe.

And possibly the best athlete going in the top, who also has really great tape, also isn't a stretch.

I guess I didn't really need anybody to tell me that in mocks or whatever, but I absolutely think it could happen.

It's absolutely possible after the Raiders take a QB, the best OT, WR, and 2 DE's go in some order. That's 5 picks. The 6th guy could easily be Styles, Love or Downs.

There is absolutely a world where Styles, Tate and Love are all off the board at 7. I don't think it would be the hightest odds, because that means either the OT or one of the DE's would slip.

I'm really hoping the top 6 teams think a lot about position value and pass on Love. Then we ignore it and pick him.

I'm not going to throw a hissy fit if we don't get Love. But I'm going to be grumpy if we get stuck with the leftovers on defense.

The mocks mean little to me as well. They can be interesting if you see something new trending about one or two players but over all are pretty worthless.

If I look at the roster, WR2-3 is the biggest hole, desperately needs addressing and there are little worthy players on the FA market. I mean, what happens if Terry ever went down ...OUCH.

I don't see Aiyuk as a sure thing to be here or to be healthy or to be good after sitting as he has.

Does AP see Tate as a top 7 talent? does he see any WR's worthy of pick 7?

I do not trust what WR's would be available at 71 and there is little chance of a trade back from 7.

You are just going to accept you may be grumpy
